State Theatre in New Brunswick NJ is a pretty cool place. I've been there for numerous shows before. Carlin, ELP, YES, Todd Rundgren and Joe Jackson etc.
Its right near Rutgers where I went to school. And if you do the show you definitely have to do dining before hand. Just do a websearch on New Brunswick NJ dining. Lotsa good places there. They also have this place I like called Old Bay Inn. They do cajun NOLA style food. I was there about a month ago and had gator balls and crawfish entoufee that burnt out my ahole the next morning. Rutgers is uptown. You might not want to go downtown though.
