Its very good and well worth the wait!

I haven't bought it yet.
Just tell me the rest of the CD is better than "Revolution" and I'm there tonight.
Otherwise.....I'll get it eventually.

Revolution is one of the worst songs on the album, there are maybe 2/3 songs total that are so/so, the rest of the album is decent. Out of maybe 5 stars with 5 being a classic, I would give it 3 to 3 and a 1/2 stars...

Best Buy has the Dualdisc version for $11.99 (one side is the album, the other side is a dvd)

There is also a limited edition special edition which has the album and the dvd content on 2 separate discs and the packaging is like a small book, but that will run you about $20.

I have the special edition version of this since I thought the packaging was cool, but this is only recommended to diehards...everyone else just get the dualdisc version.

Holy S! Thanks for the reminder that I need to go and pick up this CD.

I happen to really like the song Revolution! XM has been playing the song so much that I got used to it! I wouldn't say it's their all time best, but I've heard MUCH worse!

I'll agree with that. Revolution is really not that bad, just not what I expected. It will not keep me from getting the CD, it just keeps me from rushing out the door and knocking people over to get it.

OK. Had a chance to listen to it twice.

Keep in mind, I'M NOT A GOOD REVIEWER.
I just thought someone would like to see a song by song review.

My first impressions. Short and sweet.
Here goes nuthin':

1 - Judas Rising - Decent song. Too much double bass drum that isn't needed. Sounds a bit like the Painkiller album.

2 - Deal with the Devil - Probably my #2 on the CD. Hard driving. Great beat. Can't really compare it to anything. New and fresh to me. I like it.

3 - Revolution - Sorry. This song does absolutely nothing for me. No great vocals. No nifty beat or tempo. No great guitar. Not sure how or why this one is the first release. Just my opinion.

4 - Worth Fighting For - Good, steady song. Good tempo. Not real heavy. Nothing specific to tell....I just know this one will grow on me. I will like this one alot.

5 - Demonizer - This would have been a great song had they taken out the double bass drum. The song itself is good, but I kept wanting to skip it so I would have to listen to the drums. It's not that I don't like a double bass drum, but I don't think it's needed in this song. There is a great section in the lead to the first intro that sounds great, but then it's back to the double bass.

6 - Wheels of Fire - Good, hard, and steady. Nothing special to note, but I do like this song. One that I know will grow on me.

7 - Angel - The ballad. Nothing very unique about it, but it is good.

8 - Hell Rider - Probably my #1 song on the CD. Great intro. This song also has the double bass drum pounding, but it fits the song and sounds great. Unique vocals. Some of the better guitar work than on the rest of the CD.

9 - Eulogy - Slow. Decent song but nothing special. I may not skip it, but it's not a song that I would intenionally listen to.

10 - Lochness - Good song with a slower tempo. It has somewhat of a "Defenders of the Faith" feel to me, but at over 13 minutes, it's TOO LONG. Not many, if any, tempo changes. Just 13 minutes of the same song.

Guitar work was not as good as I expected. Halford's voice, although still one of the best, may be slipping just a tad. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Afterall, these guys have been around a looooooooooong time.

Maybe I was expecting too much. After Halford's "Fight" and the much heavier Priest with "Ripper", I was expecting some heavy stuff. I didn't get it.

I would probably give a 3 out of 5 to anyone else, but since I'm a long-time Priest fan, I'll give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Don't hurt me.

In my opinion, the 1st Fight CD and the 2 Halford albums BLOW AWAY the new Priest CD. I have to agree with the DN on this one as well...

Oh yeah...nothing on this CD can compete with "Nailed to the Gun" and "Contortion"......

I'm not saying that this JP isn't good because it is, but the early Fight and Halford are true gems.

I AGREE THE LAST HALFORD CD BLEW THIS ONE OUT OF THE WATER
IN ALL IT SOUNDS LIKE A BUNCH OF LEFTOVER SONGS YOU WOULD PUT ON YOUR CD JUST TO FILL IT UP
I GIVE IT A SCORE OF 2

I feel the same way!

Anyone who is a Priest fan on this board, definitely pickup the new CD! Its not as good as their 3 biggest sellers from the 80's, but it doesnt **** by any means...3/3.5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

I just picked it up over the weekend and got the one that has the DVD with it. Got to listen to about 4 songs on it - don't like one of them so far.

It's not their best, but I give it a 3.5 to 4 stars based on what I've heard so far!

I think Priest's goal on this CD was to get their late 70's old school fans back into the band. When I listen to this new album, it reminds me of their Sin After Sin/Stained Class days...

I think Priest took alot of heat for putting out the Painkiller and Jugulator CD's as the argument was they were trying to win over fans who were into Megadeth and Pantera at that time. I think most fans will agree that maybe for a few songs, the Demolition CD is nothing more than a beer coaster....

All in all, I think Priest tried a little too hard to please the late 70's fans and I think that is why this album is being given an average rating by the fans...

I really wish Priest would have made an album as good as Iron Maiden's Brave New World. To me, that is one of the best "comeback/reunion" albums any band has ever put out.

Sadly, I must disagree....sort of....
I liked about 1/2 the songs on the "Ripper" CDs. Together, they make a decent best of.

I would urge you to pull out "Demolition" again and listen to "Blood****ers" and tell me that song doesn't rip your face off.

I would skip some of them on that CD, but there are a few gems on there.
"One on One" and "Subterfuge" come to mind.

I LOVE old Priest - I favor that over more of the newer stuff. Sad Wings of Destiny was one of my faves. Victim of Changes is an AWESOME song. And another kick ass old track is Beyond the Realms of Death. All the Albums from Rocka Rolla until Point of Entry. I basically got into Priest because of their older stuff.

For the newer stuff...I LOVE Painkiller! But I don't like Screaming for Vengenance,r Defenders of the Faith, Turbo or Ram It Down.
