FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Police in the German city of Aachen received an unusual call for help late Wednesday when a woman telephoned to complain her husband was not fulfilling his sexual obligations.

After the couple had been sleeping in separate beds for several months without intimate contact, the 44-year-old woman woke the husband, 45, in the middle of the night and demanded he satisfy her needs, police spokesman Paul Kemen said Thursday.

When her advances were refused, a row broke out and she called the police and asked them to intervene, he added.

"The police officials did not feel able to resolve the dispute, let alone issue any kind of official order," Kemen said.

"And because no crime or infringement could be identified, all they could do was file a report in case intervention might be required at a later date," he added.

ha ha, i love it. in NY to get a divorce someone has to be at fault. of course my ex wouldn't give me a divorce based on him being an abusive imbisill, so the lawyers came up with "constructive abandoment"...meaning he withheld sex from me, so thats the official reason for my divorce! ah ha!

I never divorced. But then I didn't marry until I was 42.

But did have a failed engagement.

Funny, my soon to be ex-husband is using the same grounds for divorce. And he was so apologetic when he told me that, because he knew that would never be a valid reason to divorce me. I was the one who wanted the divorce, but he went to the lawyer first, so they have to come up with something. So sexual abandonment it is.

Probably could if the entire thing was amicable and division of assest was agreed on. Which isn't too ofeten, Especially if kids are involved. Then there's the entire custody thing and child support.
What if you make $20K a year and your soon to be ex, $400K a year? Your use to a certain style of living? Too many mitigating factors to weigh.

My brother got divorced. Of course his ex really pushed the papers fast after learning she was getting a $200K inheritance. Gotta get the divorce before the $. She had a nursing degree and could easily make good money. But chose to stay home and drive a school bus parttime. Was that fair to my brother? Especially since she cheated on him with a pharmacist? Well she sat at home not doing nothing, collected over $1200 a month from him for child support, MOved into this mansion with her pharmacist friend. She got hers! 5 years later she spent all the inheritance cash, her pharmacist friend split to California, Kids old enough no longer requiring child support. Ends up renting an apartment. Meanwhile my brother then puts up the kids and pays foir their car and college etc.

Basically your not careful anmd do things within legal boundaries, you can get f..ked!

We were able to go thru a mediator for our divorce. No fault. Lets just get it over with, it ain't working

Either way you needed someone legal, neutral and fair. Otherwise the ex could just pick up the kids, split and you never see them again.

My husband retained a lawyer, I did not. Right now I have paperwork that my soon to be gave me about 2 months ago, and I haven't had the time to read it. Supposedly it states that we want the marriage dissolved and neither of us wants each othes pensions, so on and so forth. His lawyer suggests I take it to my own lawyer, which I have not retained. I'd just as soon sign these papers and let his lawyer file them. He and I never owned anything together and our situation is pretty cut and dry. I know for others it is much more complicated. My ex's first marriage of 14 years cost him about $20,000, as his wife fought over everything. 42 page divorce agreement is pretty sad if you ask me.

$20,000 isn't much when theres hundreds of thousands of retirnment funds and such stocked away. Then there's house equity. Child Support. Custody.

Like you can say we threw away $1200 on inspections before we bought our new place. The inspection was for another place that had lots of issues so we backed out. I personally think the ***** selling the place knew some of the issues but was hoping they'd just be overlooked. Filled leach field in septic system. Underground opil tank that had leaks right near the pool. Shared wells. May have lost $1200 but thats nothing compared to what it really would of cost if we bought the place.

Not saying fight over stuff. Just saying protect yourself. Cover your own ass.

It is illegal for New Yorkers to dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable differences unless they both agree to it!

every ending marriage has different situations,
so i guess that would determine needs for lawyers and mark i think
you said CYA which is wise advice.
i can tell you i dont care how much my husband makes i want what i
put into the marriage and nothing more - (even if he is a multimillionaire and cheats on me b/c i would never just not work, and mooch off of someone, i
have too much pride and self worth) - now if i was home raising our
kid(s) - lawyer time! b/c thats a non-paying job!
