Since I pre-ordered Pearl Jam from their fan club site, I got a free download of the CD in mp3 format from bootlegs.pearljam.com to tide me over until I get the actual CD delivered via postal mail. PJ must've graduated from Grateful Dead U. and majored in Fan Support.
So far the first 4 songs have been ROCKIN'! If there is any coolness left on the Clear Channelized airwaves, they should get some serious airplay. Otherwise, it's off to satellite it goes, I guess.
It's amazing how technology has advanced in getting artist's works directly to their fans. Like Mr. Young warbled: Keep on rockin' in the free world!

I will definitely check it out. If their first single is any indication of the rest of the album, it should rock!

Here's the link for the entire thing:

I got it and liked it quite a bit myself of course. Here's a snippet from that review (4 1/2 stars out of 5):
Song for song, this is their best set since Vitalogy, and the band has never sounded so purposeful on record as they do here, nor have they ever delivered a record as consistent as this. And the thing that makes the record work exceptionally well is that Pearl Jam has embraced everything they do well, whether it's their classicist hard rock or heart-on-sleeve humanitarianism. In doing so, they seem kind of old fashioned, reaffirming that they are now thoroughly outside of the mainstream — spending well over a decade galloping away from any trace of popularity will inevitably make you an outsider — but on their own terms, Pearl Jam hasn't sounded as alive or engaging as they do here since at least Vitalogy, if not longer.
My Uncle Jim, a keen fisherman, would say "It's a keeper!"
