I saw the article in today's Newsday where she is now claiming that she was on Exstacy when she shot Mary Jo. I'll watch the interview with her tonight. I always felt bad for Amy - she was young and didn't know any better. What was Joey's excuse? It pissed me off that she got 7 years in jail while he got a few months. Glad to see she apologized to Mary Jo and that she has gone on to live (what appears to be) a happy and productive life.

Lynn, I did start to read "If I Knew Then..." and what I did read was very well written. I was also reading Anthony Kiedis' book "Scar Tissue" at the same time. I ended up bringing Amy's book back to the library and plan to take it out again when I'm on vacation in May. I also started to read Jenna Jameson's book one day at the bookstore - before I knew it, I had read half the book! I definitely want to finish that book also.

Any other books you want to recommend Lynn? I'm always reading.

Jenna Jameson's was outrageous right??? did you finish it? I love biographies. Please PLEASE|PLEASE tell me you read "the dirt" by motley crue, even non -crue fans will LOVE IT!!!!! I forgot which books we discussed. Although right now I'm reading fiction, "Everyone worth knowing" by Lauren Weisberger, she also wrote "the devil wears Prada" both excellent, (the devil wears prada is being made into a movie now!) also, I recommend the nanny diaries. *****another EXCELLENT true story, "running with scissors" by augusten burroughs, it is not for the faint of hearted, its a rough book, he had a rough life. but it was one of the best books i ever read. did u read "the five people you meet in heaven", by mitch albom. very good, its a quick read, my son (hes 12 ) just did a book report on it, actually so did my daughter a few years ago.

Joey was a skank, plain and simple and he was old enough to know better than to involve himself with a minor.

Amy was not old enough nor sophisticated enough to deal with a married man, she was old enough and educated enough to know better than to shoot someone.

Mary Jo should have been smart enough to dump Joey's sorry ass long before she did. At the time of the crime, she was a beautiful woman and was very lucky that she wasn't killed.

she does lead a productive life now and does (or trys) to do things that
help women that need it - i thought the book was ok,
you'll like it and its positive which is good for her. i became more
sympathetic to her after reading it.
i knew before i read it she was a victim indeed but she attempted to
MURDER someone - i see things like this in black and white -
imagine if it were your sister/mother - psychologial factors make this
whole thing a shame but when i was her age i knew killing someone was wrong and so did she.

jenna book was awesome! (no wonder you couldnt put it down!)

scar tissue was alright - i wouldnt reccomend it per se
your better off spending your time reading the dirt - its another like
jennas - you cant put it down!

scar tissue wasn't a 'wonderful book', i just breezed through it because of somethings that im dealing with right now are relevant to the book and what he went through.
jenna's book was great...well, the half i read. i need to pick up that book from the bookstore. gotta give her credit-smart girl!
i heard about running with scissors-definitely need to pick that up. and, i do want to read the motley crue book too.

have either of you ever read a book called 'a child called it' very moving/sad. there are 3 books in the series. the author wrote them about different periods of his life: a young boy, young man and a being a dad.

I couldn't have said it better. Amy says she was high on "X" when she shot Mary Jo. She has now changed her name to Liz and had some plastic surgery which I don' think makes her look that different. Her voice is very distinctive.

It looks like she has moved on with her life and his happy. Her daughter Ava, is a little bubble. She's too cute!

I read the Motley Crue book (even though I'm not a fan) and was shocked by how much drug usage they had. Not shocked by the usage but I'll say inspired that they are clean now. And impressed too!

"a child called it" is a heartbreaking read. as sad and depressing as thsoe kinds of books are, i am always uplifted by the perservence of the main character. sounds like "a child called it" is alot like "running with scissors". i recommend "it" but have tissues ready.
