I saw Godsmack in 2001 at Jones Beach and they were very good. I actually thought they sounded better live than on CD. They sound very good in the studio as well...The new Godsmack is onsale this week at Circuit City for $9 and at Best Buy for $10 so if you like them, this is definitely the week to pickup the CD at such a great price!

I saw Godsmack open up for Black Sabbath a few years ago. (late 90's?) They were great! Great guitar sound. Seeing Black Sabbath with Ozzy was a dream come true for me!

Mary is doing very good, getting real big, she is 2 and 1/2 now. She is starting preschool this coming Sept since she will be turning 3 in August. She is as healthy and happy as a 2 and 1/2 year old could be. Thanks for asking Dreamer!

Yes, Godsmack did open for Sabbath in 1999 on the summer leg of their reunion tour and from what I hear, they were very good. I didnt see Sabbath on that leg of the tour, I happened to have seen them in early '99 with Pantera...it would be the last time I would ever see Pantera live

Godsmack on a headlining tour is definitely worth checking out since they will have their own sound and stageshow...they had a really nice stage for the Awake tour, they definitely incorporated that Salem, MA look into their stage...not sure how the stageshow was for the Faceless album and tour, but I am sure it was good.....

I like them, even though I think they are Alice In Chains wannabe's

They are definitely influenced by Alice in Chains, but, in my opinion, I feel they do not rip them off....to me, there is a difference between ripping off a band and being infleunced by them.

I like Alice In Chains as well and yes, I definitely hear some AIC influence in Godsmack. As a matter of fact, I hear lots of AIC influence in many of todays hard rock and metal acts. AIC was and still is a very influential band....Godsmack will never gain the popularity and recognition that AIC gets, but they are still a decent band anyways....at least I think so...unfortunately, they get singled out for, among many reasons, the name of their band.....such is life....

My stepson likes them. I listened to his CD last night. Not bad. He wants me to take him to a concert when they tour.
