I have an extra ticket to see Billy Squier Wednesday 11/30 at BB KING'S in NYC. Just pm me or let me know if anyone is interested.

1 of the 1st concerts I ever saw was the Billy Squier/Foreigner tour at MSG in NYC and the Spectrum in Philly back in the day.

.......like the Smithereens Billy doesn't perform much at all anymore so this is a rarity and his only east coast appearance.

Weekday shows are a pain to make. Gotta get up 5:30 the next morning for work!

How was the show?

It was disappointing. They billed it as him playing 5 of his hits and he only played 1 of them.

It was a solo show of mostly new stuff with no band. Very quiet but he is so frikkin talented.

A keyboardist joined him for the Christmas song as an encore. That was about one of 2 highlights.

WOW! I know I certainly would have been very disappointed too!

And, a show at BB Kings is NOT cheap although it is a great place to see a show.

I would not have minded seeing Billy playing new songs solo...like you said, he is talented, and it would have been pretty cool seeing him perform in that type of setting. And if the Christmas song he sang was "Christmas Is The Time To Say 'I Love You'"...that is one of the all-time classic Christmas songs!

Yup, that was the Christmas song he played.

In my days of seeing hundreds of concerts, I often notice that solo acoustic performances often have rouble matching the energy & vibrance that a complete band brings to the stage. However, I think Randy is one of the few that can prove this statement wrong. next to him I think one of the better acoustic acts I seen on stage was John Paul Jones a few years back. He opene up at the beacon theatre for King Crimson and did not play a real long act, maybe an hour, but was very entertaining.
