I hate to put the pressure on, but this holiday will be here before you know it.
All I've heard about in this house is the request for an Ipod Nano x 3!!!!
New cell phone and a digital camera! I guess it's gonna be an computerized/electronic Christmas. Cha-Ching!!!!!!

I have about 90% of my Xmas shopping done, I like to enjoy the holidays without having to worry about stores being out of stock on stuff, traffic in the parking lot, etc...If I shop in December and I have lots of people to buy for, I am one miserable SOB...so that is what I have it done before Turkey Day...
But overall, I cannot stand how much this holiday drains my bank account!!! Then again, I am not the only one who feels that way...

i'm 90% done too!
i hate the mobs!
trick to not draining the accts is to start early!
i bought my first few gifts beginning of oct (which is kinda late)
but owning a home gives me no other choice - draining an account
is not an option - in my family we buy just for the kids,
the whole meaning of christmas gets lost in the finacial
scheme of things :(
works out better - and with my girlfriends we cap the amount spent
good luck!
cant wait for xmas - maybe i should start filling out my xmas cards
2nite!

Usually, I'm about done by now.....shop all year long to spread
out the expense through the year - However, this year has
been tough - the death of my sister, losing my nephew,
the losses from Hurricane Katrina of furniture, clothes, photos,&
other posessions.....HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS
Actually, Christmas will be celebrated with family & friends and
we are thankful that everyone is alive & that matters are not worse.
It will probably be scaled down some, but it's not about the
financial stuff anyway, right?

The overall cost of Christmas just absolutely BALLOONED for me but that's just fine! My kids heads are gonna spin this year.
The Dman (don't ya just hate it when I refer to myself in the 3rd person!)
actually started putting up the Christmas lights this past w/e. It was nice out and before ya know it the temp. drops and I'm out there freezin' my ass off doin' the "tree wrap". I naturally wait 'til Thanksgiving for the deco's etc....but might as well get the lighting set.
I actually went to church on Sunday too and laid down the new law of attending mass every Sunday. Was thinkin' 'bout you L2S as I was right in front of the "singin' lady".

christmas is SOOOOOOOO commercial. nobody celebrates it for the true meaning. its all those little brats getting everything they want and stores making tons of money. the stores here were decked out before halloween! people celebrate christmas for ALL the wrong reasons. its not about money and presents. its about Jesus Christ!!! its a shame!!!!!! KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, its not a big one that I can assure you...but its enough to get me to buy Xmas Presents amongst other things...if I continue to live on Long island, I will have very little to no bank account...that is why I am eventually going to have to get off the Island...which is really sad because I love it here! Nothing like getting driven out of LI by some rich ba$tards who want to pay 400,000 or more for homes!

Well, I ordered my children their ipods last night, on line. I come home tonight to my oldest daughter telling me that my credit card company called earlier today to check and make sure I was the one using my credit card as there were a few large purchases on the card as of yesterday. I had to laugh. This has happened to me before. I try not to use my credit cards all year, but I bring them out at the holiday time and I always get interrogated.
What I think is funny is that back last February there were charges to my card that I couldn't account for, having not used it in the new year. I investigated to find out some erroneous charge for $100.00 was placed on my card. I straightened that out, but no one was calling me then. It's obviously the time of year
As for decorations, I usually go berserk for all holidays with decorations, but lately I've toned it down quite a bit. Trying to get back to a simpler way of doing things. I am saving that for Thanksgiving weekend.
