Saturday & Sunday November 12th & 13th
DESTREHAN PLANTATION'S FALL FEST
on River Road in Destrehan (not too far from OU812's place)

If you like art & crafts of all kinds, jewelry, antiques,
good food & desserts, (mediocre) entertainment, pony rides,
etc - then you might enjoy this event. It's all outdoors on the
beautiful grounds of the plantation. It's one of my favorite
Louisiana festivals! I'm curious to see if it's gonna be scaled down
this year due to all that's happening down here, though. I still
think it will make for a good time!

even worse than that - sometimes it's clogging or square dancing....

Went to the fest on Saturday. It was smaller than
usual - but enjoyable just the same. Enjoyed the arts & crafts,
& the antiques. Bought myself a pair of sterling earrings made
out of old 1940's liberty dimes, and a few
Christmas gifts for family members. Had some good food and
brought home some homemade chocolates and pastries - YUM !!!

That afternoon, we attended a "cochon de lait" (not sure of spelling).
It's a cajun pig roast where they cook the hog whole. The food
was very good and also the company. Sunday Macca & I
worked in his flooded house and ran some errands. Anything is better
when it's the weekend.
Too bad tomorrow is Monday...

Glad you guys were able to make the cochon delait....I went to a cochon delait in Scott (not far from here) last night...had a great time. Seems to be "cochon delait" season. I think next year, around this same time...we will have to have a cochon delait at the Boudin5 House. :) How approriate!
