Well, much to my surprise - the Crue show was KICK ASS! StiX and I had 11th row floor seats - where is that freakin' camera when you need it! Yes, you all heard me, StiX DID NOT have his camera!! He has a small one he could have smuggled in!
The last time i saw Crue was on the Theatre of Pain tour. The show last night was the type of show I hadn't seen in a long time. Great pyrotechnics -awesome stage show - like an old carnival freak show. Whoever came up with that idea was freakin' brilliant in my book. They played from 8:30PM-11:00PM.
First set was ALOT Of old stuff from Too Fast For Love, and Shout at the Devil. Then there was a 10 min. intermission. Second set was stuff from Theatre of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr. Feelgood up to the new stuff. The guys looked good, Vince's voice sounded really good. Even Mick Mars did ok - although he looks very fragile but still kicked ass on that axe! Niki was spitting on the girls in the front and threw a bottle of water that landed 2 rows up from where I was sitting - DAMN! Tommy had the "tittie" cam going at one part in the second set - that was a bit dragged out to kill some time. I'd rather hear some tunes!
Dissappointments of the show: Tommy's drum solo ****ed. They didn't do Helter Skelter and StiX didn't get a drumstick - we were 4 seats too far to the right!
Otherwise, it was a great show. I would recommend seeing this show and I will see the Crue again next year - they say they'll be back! We are freakin' exhausted but well worth it. All I can say is.......
CRUE! CRUE! CRUE! :D

Glad you had a blast at the show, I wish I could have been there myself...I never seen the Crue live with Tommy Lee before, only with Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney on drums...
I cant wait for the DVD this October because I wanna see that stage show...
I am so happy they are ripping out some old gems from the Too Fast and Shout records, they rarely play Helter Skelter live these days so even though you wanna hear it, they usually dont play that one...I feel Red Hot is a better song in the setlist as opposed to Helter Skelter but that's just how I feel..........
A Tommy Lee stick would be nice to have, I am so thrilled I have a 1995 Mike Portnoy stick from when he was using the Hot Sticks instead of the Promark models he used nowadays....btw, Portnoy plays drums for Dream Theater if you werent sure about that...
I wanna see the Crue asap with Tommy, I just hope next tour, the ticket prices come down a bit....

Jim - we payed $75/tix (StiX is in the fan club) and that was the cheaper of the 3 options. It was well worth the $$. Next year, we may cave in and pay more so that we can meet the band!

Meeting Motley would definitely be cool, I would love to meet Nikki Sixx as I feel that guy is the true definition of a rock star!
$75 a ticket being the cheapest option plus the membership to join the fanclub? I was looking on their site last night because a friend and I want to get some bootlegs from this tour, but the only way we can get them is via postal mail trade. That sounds cool, but lately, I would rather just go to a website and download a show. This way, I can make cd's on my own time and can avoid shipping. Now that I have DSL, its the easiest way to obtain some bootlegs...
Lemme ask you, next time you talk to Stix, ask him if by joining the fan club, does he get access on the site to download bootlegs or does he have to use the message board to setup postal mail trades? I noticed the Crue offers exclusive website content if you pay to join the website, I am curious as to what options they are...if i can download bootlegs on the website without having to do postal mail trades, I may pony up that $40 and join the site for sure.....

I would SO love to meet Nikki Sixx myself - he was always my fave in the band!
I will ask StiX your other question and let you know via e-mail or a PM!
I was never a crue fan. Understood, every band has its theatrics. But spitting on the girls in the front row???? Kind of a immature and disgusting way of appeasing the crowd? Almost as bad as Iggy Pop picking a booger and flicking it in the stands onetime a while back. But he did it because he was getting booed off stage.

Here's a link for a preview to the upcoming DVD in October:
http://www.wiot.com/cc-common/inconcert/motleycrue/
Lower RES....but still kick A$$.
If you want the "grey" stuff....go to www.motley.com and register. LOTS of traders on the list willing to help ya! Some will even do a Blanks/Postage for the newbies or those without burners.
Mark...the most digusting thing I've ever seen(not in person) was when one the women in L7 took out her "used" tampon and tossed it in the crowd

[QUOTE=mark]But spitting on the girls in the front row????[QUOTE]
I juts looked at it as part of the show - tasteless or otherwise! There was enough space between him and the girls that I highly doubt he even pegged one of them and if he did they didn't seem to mind.
And I'm sorry Mark you never were a Crue fan. I am totally an 80's hair band chick!
And Macca - that is just freakin' NASTY about L7!

Truebeliever said she was going to the show last night. Hope she had a great time too.
I did get into some 80's hair bands. Zebra I guess could be considered one of them. Although, I never really considered them a hair band. But during the 80's and even now I more of a progressive person. King Crimson, Yes, Rush and such.
And Paul, I don't know the band L7 but that is plain nasty.

Thanks Macca! I got plenty of stuff to trade, I just find it very convenient to just download shows from somebody's public website that has SHN or FLAC files. This way, I save on postage and I can download at my leisure. I am already registered on the site, I was just curious that if you were to drop $40 for a membership, would they allow you to download boots from like a server they host or something....worth a shot I guess...

Sorry about the L7 thing...but I saw it on one of those VH-1 Countdowns. Like the old saying goes.....just when you thought you've seen EVERYTHING.....

I thought the animated spots were great. Lets hope they make the final cut into the "official" DVD. Until then, find your local bootlegger.
