Elvis Presley died on this day (August 16, 1977). Very hard to believe that it has been 28 years already....JEEZ!!!!!

i just turned six in july of 77
but ill never forget that day, woman were crying!
i didnt really understand.

one of my allll time faves is the King,
my grandmother passed her love of the King and Bobby Vinton on to me.
HE WAS FRIGGIN HOT! (Elvis that is), well bobby too I guess :eek:

if I ever have a son I would like to name him Elvis,
simply b/c I like the name and I like El for short
but my husband says never, I say
after he leaves the delivery room I grab the DR. by the lapels and say
the name is Elvis !

Two days earlier my brother in law's father passed on at 47 yrs young.
One day earlier our cat got run over by a car.
Then on my birthday August 16th, Elvis passes on. I was only 16 at the time.

Was 18 in 1977. Heard the news while in the shower....thought it was another publicity scare. Well...until I turned on the news and saw everybody crying and going apesh*t.

Was 14 when this happend. Although I'm not an Elvis fan, I was very saddend by this news at the time. Can't believe it's been 28 yrs already.
