It was a weird night in local baseball. This poor mom, packed her kid a salami sandwich, beverage and cookies. Six year old girl left bag behind at Somerset Patriots ballpark. Next thing you know. Evacution. Terror Alert.

I can see the Bomb squad now. Like Bill Murray in the Caddy Shack baby ruth scene. Bomb Squad Personell : "Its OK. Pulls out the sandwich and takes a bite." :D

I'm glad the kid didn't get hurt - but what an idiot!

Close enough to where I use to live that I once walked home. Took about an hour but I did it.
Minor and independent league parks are cool. Cheaper tickets. Cheaper food and drinks. Lots better chance of getting foul ball souveniers and autographs. Hey, last time at NJ Cardinals game, single A for St Louis Cardinals, I came as close as I ever have to catching a foul ball. Guy one row exactly behind me caught it. I would of caught it instead but it didn't come straihgt at me. It went onto the roof behind the stands and rolled down practically right in his lap.

My stepson did catch a T-shirt they sling shot into the stands. It was coming right at me. Then he blantantly reached in front of me and snatched it. Then he opened it up and it was some promotional health care T-shirt. He was like "What the heck do I want with this?". Exactly why I didn't make no extra effort to catch it.

But small ballparks are definitely alot more personal. Once I stood up and yelled at the umpire for making a bad call that everyone in the stands booed. The people in the stands all started cracking up. The umpire heard me clearly and stared me down in the stands. Never get over the roar in a big ballpark to pull something like that off.
