Dumbasses are probably kicking themselves in the rear now.
If I seen this, I would of bid. I'd have these guys detailing my cars, powerwashing, painting, cleaning gutters, dog poop scooping, sealing the driveway, trimming trees, picking weeds, vacumming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry etc. They would wish they never heard of EBAY.
For Sale on eBay: Two Desperate Teens
In their defense, college students need to earn money over the summer to pay for all those expensive textbooks, late-night pizzas, and must-have CDs. On the other hand, what were Chris Pullen and Chip Davis thinking? The two Missouri 19-year-old college students sold themselves on eBay--for a measly $246.50, reports The Associated Press.
They had what they thought was a brilliant idea: Make some extra cash by selling a week of their time to the highest bidder on eBay. Win the guys and you can get your gutters cleaned, your grass cut, or your basement cleaned out. Whatever you need for seven days. The teens hoped the idea would provide not only a great fortune, but also some adventure. The perfect summer job! There was just one little problem. The highest bidder didn't bid very much, and he was from their hometown of St. Joseph, Mo. Not much money or adventure there.
"I'm kind of disappointed, but it's money," Chris Pullen told AP. "I think it was exciting while it lasted. But it's still money, nothing to be disheartened about."
They sold themselves with this ad and a $1 minimum bid: "Buy us for one week to do those tedious tasks you hate!" Their photos accompanied the ad. "I didn't care who won," Davis explained to AP, "as long as we didn't have to clean someone's sewers or something. That wouldn't be too exciting for a whole week." The winning bid was made early in the auction, and then no new bids came in. "It was anticlimactic at the end," admitted Davis. Now the guys are heading to college this weekend so they expect to do the work in seven one-day stints.
