just got in from the show.turn back the clock 10 years. foreigner is back with a vengeance! thats right, a vengeance. for all you guys plannin on seein foreigner, youre in for a treat. from the opening chords of llwfh til the last drum roll of hotblooded, foreigner put on one helluva show! at first i didnt know what to expect but was VERY impressed. kelly hanson, imo, sounded like lou, 10 years ago. he hit all the high notes that lou has been struggling with the past few years. the band was pumped from start to finish and very tight. i was able to get a meet and greet pass and spoke with mick for a minute or two. we saw jeff j. and tom in the lobby before the show and they greeted us with a very warm hello and handshake. tom came up to me during iwkwli and shook my hand.he had a smile on his face from ear to ear the whole show. mick looked great, very relaxed and animated.havent seen him look this good and happy in many years. jeff p. was all over the stage, not as good as bruce, but very impressive.jason bonham was incredible. jeff j. made the usual faces and did a great solo on cold as ice. during jukebox hero, they sequed into led zeps whole lotta love. the setlist: llwfh, double vision, soul dr(what a surprise on that one), headgames, cold as ice, waiting for a girl like you, blue morning blue day, dirty white boy, starrider, feels like the first time, urgent, jukebox hero. ENCORE: misty mountain hop (dedicated to the memory of john bonham), iwkwli, hotblooded. WHEW!!!! it was a great show. kerri had tears in her eyes cause she kept thinking lou was gonna come on stage. sorry to say, and you guys know how we feel about lou, but it seemed foreigner was VERY refreshed and played with more excitement and enjoyment than ive seen since before lou got sick. i think mick has found some gems in kelly hanson, jeff pilson, and jason bonham. imo, i think this is the band that mick should have had when foreigner started to go sour after lous surgery.i love lou dearly, but tonights show brought back alot of memories, memories that i will savor for the rest of my life. im happy that i was able to see foreigner before lou got sick. if foreigner has any chance of being big again, this is the lineup that will do it. the only thing now is, will they come out with some new material. only time will tell. once again, and im VERY happy to say, FOREIGNER ROCKS!!!!!

I knew I should have went, Foreigner was my first concert, with Billy Squire at Nassau Collisuem. I'm glad you had a great time Jukebox! Me and Greg took the kids to see the Led Zeppelin tribute there about a month ago, it was really good too.

When did Lou get sick, and what is the illness(a recurrance)?

lou was having terrible headaches and memory loss. on the eve of foreigners world tour in 1997, lou was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. emergency surgery removed it. needless to say, the tour was canceled. he took a year off to recover and rejoined the band in 1998. unfortunately the tumor affected his voice and he also put on a tremendous amount of weight due to all the medication he had to take. his voice is not yet 100%, but he sounds great. he has come a long way since he first came back to performing. the voice is alot deeper now and unfortunately, he is unable to reach many of the high notes that were his signature.
