ditto
State Theatre in New Brunswick NJ is a pretty cool place. I've been there for numerous shows before. Carlin, ELP, YES, Todd Rundgren and Joe Jackson etc.
Its right near Rutgers where I went to school. And if you do the show you definitely have to do dining before hand. Just do a websearch on New Brunswick NJ dining. Lotsa good places there. They also have this place I like called Old Bay Inn. They do cajun NOLA style food. I was there about a month ago and had gator balls and crawfish entoufee that burnt out my ahole the next morning. Rutgers is uptown. You might not want to go downtown though. Kind of shady area.

thanks for all the deets!
you ate gator nutzzzz? haha
i had gator tail out east once - pretty good -
just wouldnt break down - lots a 'chewin
Though I don't see the show on the State Theatre website yet. Must be a new post. Basically meaning if you keep a close eye on it or call if tiscks already on sale, you could end up in the front 5 rows.
Gator is good. I just won't eat it Like Vickie Valencourt did on the Waterboy when at Bobby Bouche's picnic with his mom. Gator thrown right one the barbeque then into their mouth. She grab it by the tail and crunch crunch right through the shell. :D
I get to have one of my favorites when I go out to Phoenix the end of this month.
Rattlesnake

They may announce a NYC show, but it might hurt sales for the NJ show, so dont be surprised if for the 1st leg of the Mindcrime 2 tour, the Jersey dates may be the only shows in our tri state area...if tickets go onsale for the NJ show and no NY show is announced, you may wanna think about attending the Jersey show, if at all possible...Since there is no NJ Transit train that stops real close to this venue, I am not gonna attend this show....I know there is a stop in New Brunswick, but its not all that close to Rutgers unless you pay a cabbie....
State theatre isn't in Rutgers campus. The New Jersey Transit Northeast corridor can drop you off in New Brunswick right after teh Edison depot. It drops you off between the Rutgers Campus and between the State Theatre. It drops you off right near the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Its maybe a 5-6 block walk to the State theatre. Definitely walking distance to theatre and restaurants and that area of New Brunswick is nice to stroll.
I use to travel the Northeast corridor and Raritan Corridor for years as the job moved from Princeton to the WTC, to Secaucus, to midtown manhattan and now finally settled in Hoboken.
Now I take the Boonton or Morris/Essex line to get back n forth to work.
They are also playing PNC bank June 10th I believe.

Damn, if this show fell on a Saturday night, I would make the trip via NJ Transit, didnt realize the venue was so close to the train stop...Unfortunately Oct 6th is a Thursday this year... :(
My sister graduated from Rutgers last year so after repeatedly making trips over there to help her move and stuff, I am somewhat familiar with that area.....
Yep, thats were my familiarity came. Back in the early 80's I spent a couple years at Rutgers New Brunswick campus after graduating a county college. It was pretty cool because back then alot of bands would visit smaller campus places like the Rose room and The Barn on College Ave. As a student I got top priority tickets. Then brought all my friends who didn't go to the school because I commuted and didn't live on campus. I lived one town over in Piscataway. I seen bands like King Crimson, Adrian Belew, REM, Echo and the Bunny men amongst some of the acts.
