New Dream Theater record drops on June 7th with a US summer tour this July and August. The plan is to get into the amphitheaters 1st and have a tour with 1,2 other bands, so as far as I know, there will be no "an evening with DT" shows until possibly this fall/winter?

I will have to check out the James and John CD's sometime, though I must say, I am not too crazy about James' earlier solo work...

yeah well, this is your chance Sue! But remember, in order for you to get the full experience of DT, you must attend an "evening with DT show." This is the show where the band plays 2 sets and plays for over 3 hrs.

I was a member of the DT fanclub for a couple of years. Unless they drastically improved the fanclub, I personally felt I could have gotten alot more with my 20-30 bucks. I got 4 quarterly magazines and a Christmas CD. I didnt get any discount on tickets, no backstage passes, nothing of that nature. I checked the DT site and dont see a USA fanclub listing...

The best fanclubs I heard that have the best response of any fan clubs I heard about are the Queensryche and Pearl Jam fanclubs. I know people that are in the PJ fanclub and its run GREAT from what I hear...same with Queensryche...though supposedly with QR's fanclub, they are not that reliable when it comes to backstage passes and tickets...but Gina Chinarain62 can give you the details on that club.....

I do understand that you will take any DT at this point...and that is cool! But I am telling you...when you see them play for 80 Mins as oppose to playing a double set and the amount of time they play for, there is a BIG difference...

Personally, I would prefer DT to tour the amphitheaters and do the "evening with DT" shows, but unfortunately, they are not that big in the USA to do that sort of thing....yet!
