Ok, what about this crazy idea for all the southern folks (and northern if you want to visit).

"A Message Board Party" at the Lakefront. Everyone can bring a dish or contribution to buy what is needed. Schedule it around Randy. An outdoor event, we can always bring some shade tents or grab a shelter. A large picnic area that we can get out there early enough to claim. I think late April early May weather would still be nice. Find some electricity or get a generator to power Randy's rig. We can coordinate everything before hand once we have a date. We need to nominate some folks to handle putting this together.

Comments?

Yes This is a great idea, but I think a better place would be at one of the shelter at Lafreniere Park. We could rent the entire pavillion for about 150.00.

Sounds good to me........maybe this is the direction we need to go at. I was just trying to create the next bash and have folks stop by that haven't ever seen Randy play before. Perhaps we can have a booth set up and sell some merchandise. I'm sure Randy wouldn't mind.

What's the date? May 7th?

Lakefront....Lafreniere....either would be a great place. As long as there's sunshine and beer, all will be fine! Even if it's not feasible to get RJ to play for us, we should still get together and at least have a BBQ. We could get the "Kitchen Bitch" Johnny Race to cook.

Any public parks up there that you know of? I will have to see how much it would cost to put something together at a park. I would love to have it on a beach somewhere, like in Biloxi. Now that would be cool.

Come to think of it Ylee....there are a few. One (Heritage Park) of which has free concerts every Sunday night, right Carl and Nicky? I will see if I can get some info on that one as well.

I really like the Lakefront and Lafreniere ideas though.....remember when they used to have the Jeff Fest at Lafreniere every year? Zebra played there once. That fest was great!

We need to stick with the Lakefront idea since that's what started this. Then we can have one at Lafraneire park as a fallfest.

Lafrienere Park would be a better fit for our group......in more ways than you can imagine.

I think the first thing we need to do is see where we can have it, before we ask Randy on a date. If we make this a large public picnic, and bring a generator, I don't think we should have a problem. I've seen large groups of people out there before with music blarring. No one shut them down.

Count us in. Someplace the kids could go would be great. My 12 yo has a huge crush on Randy. Let us know if we can help. Lakefront would be great. Would remind me of the old cruisin days. Where's my '69 Camaro convertible?

Lafreniere would be great too. Kids could bring their fishing poles. I have several folks not on the board that would love to go. You can probably count on 10 from my family and friends.
