As most of you know....my Mom has been battling brain cancer. It's terminal.....the doctors give her 3-6 months to live, maybe longer if the radiation and chemo work. My family and I thank you for the continued prayers.

If Mom feels up to it, we will see everyone in Laffeyete.

People....a word to the wise. Whatever squabbles you may have with some one in life....they arent worth it. Love one another, family, friends,& people you may come across alike. We need each other.

I wont be a stranger, but forgive me if you guys dont see me in here that much.

Thank you for sending Mom that card. She loved it, and has been keeping it with her.

I know about this disease firsthand. My first husband died from brain cancer. He was only 45 years old. I agree with you, life's too short to bicker and be stubborn with one another. My heart goes out to you. Your mom will be in my prayers. All of life is a journey, sometimes the road is a bit more rocky than we'd like.

BDS- I'm so sorry to hear the news. I can't imagine what you're going through. It's so true that things like this put your life in perspective and make you appreciate the family and friends that you have. I will continue to pray for your mom. I hope you're able to take your mom to that show and maybe someone could talk to the guys about dedicating a song to her. Try to stay strong....God bless.

BDS, my heart goes out to you and your family through this trying time.

My mom died of Ovarian cancer 2 1/2 years ago so, although it's not the same illness that your mom has, it's still cancer. It seems some of us have had to deal with that in various ways firtshand.

And I understand about the squabbles thing; my mom had one sibling; a brother who fought over their mom's will (my grandma) when she died and he never made amends with my mom; never even came to see her when she was sick. Now, he has to live with the decision he made for the rest of his life and I hope he can. The flip side is that you don't need people like that your life either who are negative etc. So, I myself have not spoken to him in 7 years and I can live with that decision.

My prayers are with you Big Daddy. I know this all too well.

I had to go through the pain of watching my father suffer with lung cancer. He died at age 48 when I was 11 years old. His brother died at 49 with lung cancer a few years later. My cousin just passed away last week from esophigal cancer at age 41. He found out about it only a week earlier. They were all smokers (which is exactly why I don't smoke).

Hopefully, someday we will be able to find a cure for this horrendous disease.

Scottie - I'm sorry about your cousin. I really hope they do find a cure for all facets of this disease. I'm sure glad I don't smoke anymore!

Hey everyone....its been a bit hasnt it?

Well Mom is feeling a little better these days. We werent able to do the surgery to put the port in for chemo because her red blood cell count was wayyyyyyyyyy low. She needed a transfusion. Luckily and by the grace of the good Lord, we got it damn near immediately. Yesterday she had a bone scan and she continues radiation.

Now as far as April in Laffeyette goes......Mom being there just depends on how she feels. Ive put in for that weekend off.....so Im good for sure. She really wants to try and be there. We've promised younger bro ( the one who had been to Iraq a couple of times) that if the doctors OK it, we would fly her to see him and the kids there in Maryland. Ive showed her all your kind thoughts and words and good vibes sent, and she was truly touched by you guys.

Anyway some of her appointments and all are starting to get a little space between them and all, so i hope I can start coming in here a bit more frequently soon. Theres been a few 30 + hours days here and there with me working and running her.....but in 2 weeks Im taking a weekend of at the hospital job so I can try and catch up on things Ive let slip.........

Thanks again you guys...........you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!

Hey BDS,

Your mom is still in my prayers, what is her first name?

And yes, do take care of yourself so that you can stay strong and be there for your mom. When her time comes, may she go peacefully.

Peace
Mary Anne
