you are so right about the marathon bars!

I was at a friends' house this week, and he had the food network on (he's a chef, and it didn't hurt that Rachael Ray was on either!!!). Then this show comes on about how certain candy bars are made. Then they start talking about candy bars they used to make years ago. Seems there are people that not only remember the Marathon bar (among others), but are trying to get the candy companies to start making them again. Seemed the biggest push right now is for the Marathon bar. Maybe we'll be seeing it again sometime!!!

They were released years ago on VHS. I loved them as a kid and wanted them, but they came out on 4 different tapes, one for each category (Math Rock, Science Rock, History Rock, and Grammar Rock). I couldn't see paying a total of $60.00 for that. Waited out for eBay, but then a couple years ago, they released it all on one DVD. Bought that quick for $20.00!!!

I'd like to see a kid settle for a wishnik today as a gift? They'll look at it, then you as if to say, "What the heck is wrong with you?". Beatniks, trolls, whatever you use to call them). We called em wishniks.

Remember when you could buy a concert ticket for less than the "convenience charge" you have to pay Ticketbastard now?
yes and remember standing on line all nigtt for tickets, that was the best, the biggest fan got the best seats, it sux now online. in 5 minutes everything is gone!!!!

macca

Yep. Ticketbastard/scalper wants "everybody to have a fair chance to get the best seats". Obviously, that was before the scalpers and ticket brokers took over and the buying public was left the scraps once the tix went on sale.....

Last time Clapton played here, the first 30 rows were GONE before tickets went on sale at 10. And there was NO pre-sale BS. Makes you wonder huh??

Well, I just started working a 2nd job at a local liquor store on Sundays - and my boss there has the "IO" digital cable, where you can see vh1 classics, and the game show network - so, naturally, I'm enthralled with watching the old game shows, like "matchgame" w/ Gene Rayburn, Charles Nelson Riley, Richard Dawson, Brett Sommers, etc. - and it's so funny to see the styles and people from the '70's!!!!!!!!! Charles Nelson Riley sits there and smokes a pipe right on the set!!!! Its also remarkable that most of those people that were on that show are not even around (alive) anymore!!! They had "Bobby Van" on yesterday, I totally forgot about that guy! What a trip down memory lane, I'm here to tell you!!!!!!!! :)

I know! how funny is that!!! the hair styles are what kills me! and to think, 30 years from now, even though we think we're "state of the art" now, our styles and customs will seem so weird too!

Good record stores that had imports along with domestic vinyl. Remember when radio stations were NOT restricted and the DJ's had their way with a playlist? 5 cent phone calls, walking down your street was SAFE(and walking home for that matter!)!
