Styx has a new album, I mean CD, coming out on Feb. 18 called Cyclorama. You can check out three of the new songs on www.styxworld.com which sounds different from their last couple of studio recordings. And yes this is their first album without Dennis DeYoung which in my opinion should be a rocking album, I mean CD.
I cant wait- I have not heard anything from it yet, but I did hear that it was excellent & It did'nt receive any bad reviews.

I have heard the rest, and "Waiting For Our Time" is the closest I've heard to the Styx sound that makes them distinctive. The rest is err...good, no real fireworks IMHO but it's a bit harder edged, which is an improvement.

I'll add it's a matter of what you're expecting, and I've held Styx in high esteem waiting for the "kickass" cd to surface, so I'm bound to disagree with someone here, I'm sure.
I had almost written Kiss off until Carnival Of Souls came out, or rather leaked out. Then they lost me on Psycho Circus, but I still love those guys dearly.
And the same might be said of Geoff Tate's solo, so there you go!

There are three songs that you can listen too on styxworld.com and the one song I really like "These Are The Times" which too me blends in great with the music and lyrics.

No I am not. I was raised in Houma but left in 1986 and now I make my home up in the "Beautiful Pacific Northwest!!"
