This is really not for the "best" vocalist, but more for the lifetime "Hall of Fame" type of honors....
I know that maybe all of them deserve it...but who would you vote #1?

You are indeed correct.
I should have put him in place of Geddy Lee.
Looks like that's one for the "Hey idiot,....column"
:p

My thoughts exactly.
While Robert Plant fronted the best band ever to grace a stage (IMO) I think nobodys voice compares to Pauls...

I differ with Scottie but thats ok, Is this poll just for Hard Rock Bands? I dont see a Mccartney, Jagger, Daltry etc in the list

Yep. I was only allowed 10.
I knew I would miss some.
I probably should replace Geddy Lee, Rik Emmett and Sammy Hagar with Paul Rodgers and Mick Jagger.
Not sure I'd include Daltry, but McCartney deserves to be in there.
I was just listening to Black Sabbath and I got to thinking about the longevity of Ozzy and Dio. That got me thinking about a post.
I know I can't make everyone happy, I will leave some good ones out.
I'm just jackin' around with a new poll.
Haven't had a good one in a while.
:D

I can't stand Geddy's vocals. The tribute album with Randy on vocals rocks. I always like the music but that voice was like fingernails on chalkboard.
I vote for Plant personaly. Saw them 3 times up close each time and he's an amazing musician (telling my age again). Page was pretty good too. :p
As for Rodgers, he was great in studio but ****ed a big one live. I saw him twice and couldn't believe how bad he was. Always off key and no energy.

Have you seen Rogers lately? Played a show a while back in Bay St. Louis and blew the doors down.

Not lately, probably 20-25 years ago, I'm talking about. Good to hear he's aging well.
The two times I saw him, once with Bad Company and once with Page (forget the name of that group, the Firm?) he was so bad, we walked out both times. Maybe he was doing drugs or something at the time. That's what it seemed like.

Where I think Geoff may very well be the BEST vocalist in the world, he certainly has an AMAZING voice........but for this poll I'm really looking for consistency and longevity, like Ozzy and Dio.

Not a bad choice at all.
Is he still around?

That being the case....I chose Plant!
But Klaus Meine ???? He's so annoying!

Dude!
How old is the guy?......like 80?!?!?!
I just saw him in concert and he was still acting like he was 20!
He's been singing in the same band, pumping out great tunes for over 30 years.
Truly a very accomplshed singer.
I think he's worth mentioning.
I can think of a few that I probably should have left off, though, like Hagar and Emmett...not that they don't deserve it, but that there are a few other better choices.

What about Robert Smith of the Cure?
I guess Elvis is Rock-N-Roll and not Rock and Al Green is Soul so I'll go with Robbie Plant.

How is Cheap Trick's Robin Zander not on the list let alone not #1? Zander, I believe, is the best rock singer to ever get near a microphone. The guy's voice is so versatile - from syrupy sweet to raspy and aggressive. They don't get any better.
Honorable mention should be given to Steven Tyler, Doug Fieger, Steve Whiteman and Geoff Tate.
