I went to my buddy Matt's last weekend to watch his DVD of Live Aid. Him and I went ballistic cause NO LED ZEP REUNION was placed on the DVD.
WHY???? Is Plant that greedy??? Does anyone know why? Thinking back it was a decent performance....Phil Collins on drums....

As it turns out - it was not a great performance (it was not even a GOOD performance, by their standards).
Page's guitar was out of tune - handed to him right out of the case. It seems that nobody was overly thrilled with Phil Collins' performance to boot.
I believe that in lieu of releasing the performance, the Zep made a pretty healthy monetary donation to the common cause.

That's exactly the way I understood it too. The thrill of Zep playing together again was the main attraction. The performance was not up to snuff. I have it on video somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up.

I didnt think it stunk. Yeah Page looked strung out......no guitar pun intended...and it will NEVER be mistaken for "The Song Remains the Same",
but to me, and I was 17 at the time.....
It was as close to Zeppelin performing as I'll ever see

Zeppelin has had a history of technical/mechanical problems throughout their touring history. The Live Aid show......like others have said....was subpar. Page's guitar right from the case, just not a good "show". Maybe Page's alleged "satan worship" reared its ugly head again.
Concerning Live Aid....McCartney's performance was tweaked before it was included in the package. So much for LIVE. Is there any wonder why the "B" word just won't go away?

Plant/Page felt that their Live Aid Performance ****ed ass, so what they did was reissued No Quarter on DVD and are taken a portion of the proceeds from the dvd sales (not sure how much) and are donating them to whatever charity the Live Aid dvd was going too...I wish the Live Aid boxset had the full show otherwise I have no plans on buying this...what's the deal with Sabbath and Priest only having 1 song on there, they each did like 3 songs.....

I Was At LIVE AID & To My Major Disappointment Yes :( ZEPPELIN Was Not Up To Par !! Just The Fact Of Thier Presence On Stage Was A Miraculous Moment For Me......Pages Guitar Sounded Like Balls. He Was Also Doing Some Heavy Binging Back Then !! (Thats My Boy !!)....The Worst Musical Act & I Believe It Was Close to 1:00 am , Was BOB DYLAN accompanied by KIETH RICHARDS & RONNIE WOOD on Acoustic Guitars & The Whole Stadaium Was Dumbfounded !! Funny , All My Heros ****ed That Day !!

As I remember correctly, his whole performance(instrument wise). Kinda SOP for him when it comes to "live" performances coming to home video.

There is no "getting it"....Macca is a perfectionist. They said when he did the European Tour last summer, he had so much equipment, he left NOTHING to chance.

I may STILL be in shock over that - it would explain so much...
