F'N AWESOME! Wanna know why? Because SPEED KILLS!

Now its time for the Mets to get Carlos Delgado and sign another starter because I have no confidence in Glavine or Zambrano this year...

arent they on the Delgado trail already?
Glavine may be better now that Pedro is there.

yes they are in the hunt for Delgado, as well as Doug Mientkiewicz, Travis Lee (not good enough to be a starter, solid bench player though!) and maybe 1,2 more...

Glavine should have never been signed in the 1st place, if the Braves wanted him out, I had a feeling they knew at the time when he was let go as a FA that he had no fuel in the tank left...and judging by the last 2 years, they have been right on the money! Except for a brief period last year in the 1st 1/2, he has been a BUST for the Mets.

34 million dollars of the Mets payroll is what Glavine takes up...that is some serious dough right there!

ya know? I wonder that too but he sure seems talented, i was almost amazed the Yanks didnt try harder( yeah i know we have the money and crap, doesnt make it right or wrong) I am sorta happy because i really like Bernie Williams...Hes such a class act id hate to see him fighting for a job when hes been so great to the Yanks

The Mets have the same mentality as the Yanks do, and that is to win and to win now.........If youve got the money to spend on the FA"s, then by all means go right ahead. They got burned on the Mo Vaughn deal , and the Robbie Alomar deal too if you ask me, so I guess they are trying to make up for lost time.

Besides, they have to keep up with the Braves............

Are the Braves gonna be Pedro's new Daddy?

I hope so, Pedro Martinez Vs Tim Hudson this year is gonna be COOL!

I am so mad the Mets went after Alomar and Vaughn, so thankful that Steve Phillips is a ESPN employee now and not the Mets GM! Only thing Phillips was good for was that he brought Piazza to NY...other than that, after the 2000 World Series, he went downhill from there...

When are Mets tickets going onsale? anyone know?

How about the Mets farm system? Ive heard about how the Yanks really dont have too much going on in the minor leagues.

The Mets farm system is in much better shape than the Yankees 1 that is for sure...They have a couple of guys in there like Royce Ring who is a closer and an OF named Prentice Redman who might be good in the majors...

You can pack all the firepower you want. The team has got to mesh too. Look at all the Yankees have spent and they haven't won a series since 2000. Even with all the heavy hiters the Mets will need to learn to play well together too.

I agree Mark, not saying the mets are going all the way, they aint that good, but they have FINALLY done something POSITIVE for their organization and the fans. I am excited as ever to attend some games this year!!!

The Yankees will be fine. (I am one of the few Mets fans that dont hate the Yankees, I hate the rest of the NL East teams because the Mets have to beat those teams to get into the playoffs) Randy Johnson is exactly what they need..I expect Arod to put up some numbers this year...I think the entire pitching staff will benefit from the Johnson trade because everyone will basically "know their roles."
