Sorry Mr. B, NOT the continenet!
I dusted off a disc I haven't heard in awhile, the first ASIA abum.
How great were they?... "Sole Survivor", "Time Again".....
Anybody ever get to see them live??? The only place I had the chance to was in my WILDEST DREAMS.....

I saw Asia (the band) at Westbury Music Fair in the summer of 2001. The concert was "An 80's Reunion". On the bill was The Outfield, The Motels (Martha was sick, so they didn't play), Asia and The Fixx. It was an awesome show. We had 4th row tix. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Westbury Music Fair, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's a theater in the round, and the stage rotates! I always thought VH-1 should do a "Storytellers" from the Music Fair. Maybe if "Zebra 4" takes off???

You know Sue, I almost got into a rumble w/ the bartender at the Music Fair at a Rick Springfield Concert!! I waited on line for , literally, 40 minutes...the ***** bartender then takes my order, totally stonefaced, like he was the most miserable person in the world. 4 beers, $25.00!! So, I make a comment, like, "well, you know, the price is worth it, because you always get service with a smile here at the music fair!" And I smile my big old smile!! And He goes  "you got a problem with me??" And I'm likes,"Nooooo, I'm just remarking on the great level of service here at the music fair! Carry on!!"
OK, so it wasn't a rumble... but I'm sure my girls at the Rick Springfield Concert would've had my back anyway!!

Carl Palmer a hottie, huh? I gotta think about that one! You are right Dawnie Race... getting a drink at the Music Fair without being crushed or going broke is nearly impossible. They wanted $7 for a mouthful of champagne in a plastic cup with a strawberry. But, it is a great place to see a show.

Oh yeah...Chris Squire was with Asia on that tour. He's definitely not hot, he's a fossil.

I can remember those years on the "heartbreak" diet when I would get silly drunk listening to "Only Time Will Tell" or "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes"(good video, btw)
I used to also get weird turned on by the gymnast on the OTWT video...

Oh dear God- Zchick got her hands on an Asia CD & began playing it. 2 hrs later I realized that I had been listening to "Sole Surviror" the entire time! She left the damn song on repeat & that's how long it took me to notice. Needless to say- I USED to like that song ;) Serves me right for spending my weekends in a stupor.

ASIA is awesome or were awesome. I saw them in 1983 @ Forest hills tennis staium, right b4 they gave John Wetton the Boot. You Asia fans might want to take a listen to the Yes Album called DRAMA. It has Steve Howe and Geoff Downes with Trevor Horn(The Buggles) on Vocals. But you can hear the seeds of ASIA being sewn.
