I COPIED THIS FROM A VAN HALEN FORUM SITE

Hey Everyone,

Just got back to the hotel & I have one word for this band & EVH: OVER

My heart is broken, in as many pieces as EVH broke 2 guitars on stage in disgust.

I cannot even begin to explain how disgusted I am right now, except for Soundcheck, Sammy, Mike & Alex.

Please understand that I have followed =VH= as my favorite band w/ Dave & Sam. Tonight, Sam, Mike & Alex out-****ing-classed EVH.

The man broke his 1st guitar & subsequently told the crowd, ****ed out of his mind, that this is it, it's over-pointed to Sammy & Mike & Said, There's the King.

Soundcheck was incredible & everybody there was so cool (What up Rebel-You are the Man for getting Sam's sig. on the shirt they gave us-Thanks )

SHOWTIME:

Everything seemed to be cool until UFB, in which Sammy made a comment, "Some of us were UFB." Probably in reference to EVH holding soundcheck up for almost 2 hours-Mike & Alex were so ****ing embarrased. Mike stayed & signed tons of stuff & was so cool to us all. Now I wouldn't think much of that if this hadn't been my 37th show, 5 this year.

EVH was LIVID. I don't know if it was that comment that set him off, or if it was B/C Valerie was there or he was incredibly drunk. All I know is that I saw my hero tonight put on a great performance, but after his solo, something snapped:

* He broke 2 guitars on stage in pury furry. One almost went into the crowd & could of really hurt someone. He then destroyed the second one, which almost hit Sammy, who was just like, What the ****? Mike & Alex too. You could see their faces as Eddie made comment after comment:

This is it.

It's over.

Never again.

Pointed @ Sam & Mike & said, there's the king. Made another comment before he broke his beautiful guitar, which sounded blissful all night, that he was in a bad mood, throw something @ me if you don't like what I am playin'. I loved his solo for the 5th time & was very moved when Wolfgang came on stage. They played together beautifully before Eddie absolutely lost it. I am not kidding you all-he totally lost it on stage.

Not only did he insult the crowd by making us feel very uncomfortable by his antics, he made an absolute fool of himself & this will be the turning point for EVH: He will either seek help or he will be dead.

It kills me to say that, as I have loved the man since I put Women & Children 1st in my 8-track for the 1st time.

He was so cool during soundcheck, but before the 1st encore, he went insane.

Sammy, Mike & Al were absolute professionals, as they came back out & did everything they could to salvage a disgusting night. This after Ed broke his 1st guitar in an absolute rage. He made no friendly gestures to Sammy, as Sammy tried several times to get him out of the state he was in. It only pissed him off more.

I am going to conclude now, as this will be my last post-I am that disgusted. Thank God for Sammy, Mike & Alex-They were so fun tonight, before Eddie had his melt-down:

* Getting furious that Sam's wife came out & sprayed him w/ Whip-it's-He would not continue the show while he shaked his head like a ****ing 2 year old & made us all wait while the crew busted their ass to clean up a few spots. More harmful was his guitar & its cord. He tripped on it 1nce-Sammy tried to help him up & Ed just looked @ him like **** you.

* Valerie came out & hugged/kissed Wolfie, who I felt very sorry for-He was playin' w/ Sammy's son all night-I had front row, EVH side-I saw everything.

ONE more thing before I go & pray for this man: He almost hit Sammy w/ the 2nd guitar he broke & Sammy looked like he was going to kill him.

REBEL will back me up on these happenings-I have not even gotten started & am too sick to say anymore.

=VH= is over w/ Sammy & Mike-NO ****ING DOUBT.

So w/ a boken heart, but thankful of the 5* experience (everybody was so ****ing cool-I had a blast w/ ya'all & am so sorry that we had to witness the absolute meltdown of the man that has brought us so much happiness over the years.)

God bless you all again-YOU all/Soundcheck, Mike, Sammy & Alex made it a night to remember

Unfortunately, Eddie made it a night to remember too.

Look out for the news articles tomorrow & subsequent posts. There is so much more to this story, but I'm too sick to go on.

And BTW, I stopped drinking after the 1st incident w/ Sammy-Those of you that were there know what I'm talking about. Please finish my story-I can't type one more word, I'm so disgusted

Wow, he had an episode huh? Even if Sammy shouldn't have made the comment about being late for soundcheck; eddie was still late. Maybe because of his (eddie's) insecurity, he believes someone has to be king. I sort of understand what's going on here? Sammy conducts himself well, and everyone likes him, and eddie is jealous of this? From an ousiders view, eddie should be thankful: He has valerie, wolfgang, an awesome band back together, etc. If alcohol is the problem, he needs help "right now!". Some of you may not agree, but I don't think that mike anthony's glorifying of drinking and jack daniels bass helps the matter. I'm not impressed with the alcohol factor - They're not kids anymore. They have to keep their heads, stay healthy, and give us the music. I realize that the JD bass is a gimmick and part of the show, but if alcoholism is the problem, go all the way.

OU, if you have the links of that forum or latest VH news, post them. I'd like to check it out some more

what a shame, kind of reminds of these overpaid, crybaby basketball players who want to fight each other and the crowd

EVH doesn't have Valerie anymore. She left him a few years ago when he wouldn't get help. Kicked him to the curb.

Just goes to show you that Eddie has a major drinking problem. Even though he says he quit, it's obvious that he didn't.

WOW!

Sam and Mike being professionals.....no doubt about that. Remember.....before the "reunion".....Eddie was ticked off cause Mike was hanging with Sammy and doing some guest spots at gigs. As a result, he "kicks" Mike out of VH.

After what I just read, it reminds me of what Tim(0U812) told me one day: Look at Eddie and this is what you'll see: In one hand, a bottle of booze. The other, a carton of cigarettes. His pockets are full of pills. SAD.....really sad. Maybe Eddie has a death wish. But there is no excuse to lash out at people who care and love you.

True Johnny Boy, he may be like us as far as drinking is concerned, but we never said that we quit. We just keep on drinking until our legs or liver gives out.;)

Well, for anyone that's been on this board for awhile, you probably have seen me spew on this subject at least once. To say EVH had an influence on me is a huge understatement. That's why when it comes to this, I have strong opinions and am very passionate about it. I'm not goofy about it like in my teenage years, but the influence is still there and will always be. There's just something about the days when these guys were on top. Truly magical and inspiring. I've pretty much already said what I feel on this whole subject many times.....the band, the reunion tour, the attitudes. I'll just add this. As for the alcohol, I agree but I disagree about Mike Anthony's drinking around Eddie and his JD bass. As a friend, support is a great gift to give. But, he's not the one whose life is being affected by any abuse. As much as he may or may not drink, obviously, he's able to not only handle it, but maintain control AND professionalism in his life still to this day. I can't say I agree on the influence playing a JD bass would have on Eddie if he really tried to dry up and saw that bass, that it would make him want a drink. Besides, it's all around. Take away his magazines, don't let him drive by a billboard, take all the sideroads away from the liquor stores. What I'm saying is, if he wanted to quit, any visuals from Mike being around him wouldn't matter. It's a mindset, regardless of what's around you. And honestly, I think the alcohol has very little to do with Eddie's behavior, on and off that stage. Yeah, he has a problem. Actually two. Ego and power. It all sums up into one neat little ball that I've talked about numerous times. It's the reason I couldn't bring myself to go to the concert a couple months ago. None of it feels real or genuine. Eddie did it, and he did it to himself as well as countless others. I know people like this. I've seen it a million times. They tear it down and watch it crash to the ground. After it's over, they continue to stomp it into the ground and everything else around it and keep working their way out more and more creating the same distruction. Yet somehow, it's never any of their fault. It's someone, everyone else. They're right, everyone else is wrong. And if everyone was just as smart as they are and did things they're way, THEN everything would be ok. Everything that has become the present day VH/ EVH, we all watched him do it to himself and saw it happening and where it was going. But I bet a million dollars he goes to bed every night and blames everyone but himself. It's too bad. A real tragedy. I'll just hold on to what was that is still in me from those days. It's all that's left.

Nicely said EVHFV. Edward was a huge inspiration on me as well. He (Eruption in particular) is what sparked my interest in playing guitar. Dave inspired me tremendously as well. He reminded me to not take everything too seriously, relax, and enjoy life. Van Halen was the single most influential band to ever grace the stage. (to me) They will never get back to that point ever again....no matter who sings for them, including Dave. Like you said, the best way to enjoy Van Halen is through memory. They were incredible.

VERY TRUE OU812; I HAVE CHECKED NUMEROUS SITES AND CANNOT FIND ANY OTHER ARTICLES ON THIS. I EXPERIENCED THE BAND IN BILOXI AND THEY WERE AWSOME. 5TH ROW FLOOR ON EDDIE'S SIDE OF THE STAGE. HE DID LOOK LIKE HE HAD A SLIGHT BUZZ BUT WAS NOT WASTED OUT OF HIS MIND. HIS GUITAR PLAYING WAS UNBELIVABLE AS USUAL WHICH PROVED TO ME THAT HE IS IN THE TOP 5 GREAT GUITARIST LIST OF ALL TIME.
ROCK ON EDDIE!!!!!
