This is absolutely pointless.

While doing my taxes once I asked my sister, 'Should I give a dollar to the Gubernatorial Campaign fund?'

Now the name is just plain silly itself. Sounds like the guy from Mayberry RFD running for President /or/ how about a fund to help stamp out flying mucous during football strikes like the one that hung off of Mark Gastenau's after he crossed the pick it line in the last football strike.

But my sister replied "ah, what the hell! You might as well give it to them. If you don't, there gonna find a way to rip it off from you!'

"if you're gonna crucify someone who has served, you better put your cards on the table about IF AND WHEN you served. And we all know who I mean."

I'm still looking for an answer along with any evidence to support it.....again.....if you can.

GreggFromJoisey

I believe the answer is obvious, with all due respect.
Kerry served
Bush had a spoon up his nose and avoided the service

So, it comes down to , who can we trust. MY mind is made up.

Well....to those of us that pay close attention, it is NOT obvious.

You said: "if you're gonna crucify someone who has served, you better put your cards on the table about IF AND WHEN you served. And we all know who I mean."

Are we supposed to assume that Bush and/or Cheney has "crucified" Kerry's service?
All I am asking is for you to let us know what Bush/Cheney said that makes you think this......or can you not back up your assertions with the facts?

If you want to talk about "trust" in a candidate, I am ready to debate and loaded for bear.

Again I'll say that politics should stay off the board. It doesn't do anyone any good. There are too many differing opinions here.

That being said, if someone brings it up, I will ferociously defend my position and debate the facts all day long.

...but that's just my opinion.
:)

GreggFromJoisey
10-04-2004, 03:51 PM
Mark, Bush/Cheney is stuck in 1968. OK maybe Kerry didnt lose an arm or a leg. Stop challenging his medals "Old pork chop ass" as Don Imus calls ****less Cheney. Cheney or Bush wasnt in Vietnam. How can they judge if the medals were justified or not???Face it, he's not on planet Earth 2004 as far as we know it.

I say make the race about 2004 and beyond. Not 1968.

Delirious Nomad
10-04-2004, 03:55 PM
So what is it that Bush/Cheney has said about Kerry in 1968?
You must have some evidence to back this up, I assume?

You talk as if Bush/Cheney has challenged Kerry's medals.
All I ask is that you provide evidence to back up your accusations.

Please let me know when you find it.
I'll be patiently waiting.

The "nightly news" is a news cast....not an example of Cheney challenging Kerry's medals, which you have accused him of.

Please, oh please, give me ANY example of Cheney challenging Kerry's medals. Just one comment, just one sentence, ........

I'm still waiting.

**** Cheney has never made any derogatory remarks regarding Kerry's medals and/or his service. In fact, to the contrary, Cheney has always given Kerry credit and admired his service. It is Kerry's voting record in the Senate that Cheney has been speaking about.

Man, I saw this thread and HAD to answer on it. Makes me think of that Iron Maiden song "Deja Vu". "Feel like I've been here before". DN, you knew perfectly well what he meant. I don't know why you like to play this game, but you do. I personally don't mind politics on this or any board. It's people's opinions, end of story. If someone doesn't like the opinion, they can just pass on and not respond. Or, they can respond just the same. Anything anyone reads here won't sway their decision. If they're still an undecided voter, I seriously doubt anything they read here will solidify anything either way for them. And, if it does, that's actually a GOOD thing. The only place you can't make a political statement is withing 75 feet of a voting booth. But, most people undecided at this point probably won't place a vote, feeling they might make a wrong or uninformed vote. I disagree, but some people feel that way. I said it before, and I'll say it again. This isn't about giving both sides of the coin. Again, someone made a clear statement, but was asked to carify. When they did, that wasn't enough. They were asked to back it up. When they did that, again, because they weren't your views, they were misinformed and wrong. Anyone can vote for whoever they want for whatever reason they want. That's not "wrong". You like Bush's stance on the war and the job he's done, or think Kerry has better plans for the war, vote for the one you like better. You hate Bush's Texas accent, or don't want to look at Kerry's big head for 4 years, don't vote for the one that bugs you more. Doesn't matter the reason, it's your reason and how you feel, and that's not "wrong". Nobody has to like it or agree. It's a clearcut case of not being able to stand someone not siding for Bush, and that makes them "wrong", no matter their reason or defense. Everything they say, they're told they're wrong for. Let a man have an opinion for crying out loud. It's ok even if it's not your opinion. There's a Halloween parade every year that goes by my house. Local towns all come, dressing themselves up and their kids. A cool smalltown festivity. I get into, and have lots of decorations and props for my house. One is an electric chair, with strobe lights and a smoke machine with a cd of electrical sound effects. Quite convincing at night. This year, I already bought a Bush mask, and I'll be sitting in that chair with that mask on. Hmmm, what statement am I making, especially 3 days before election day? Do you really need to ask? Have I changed anyone's vote? I think it's pretty clear. It's simply my opinion and my statement I'm making based on it.

Again, much love to EVERYone here, but geez, let a person have an opinion on something without trying to change their mind because it doesn't match yours. It's ok, it really is. Wanting to give people "both sides so they'll make the RIGHT decision" is NOT the same as so they'll make THEIR OWN decision.
