Hurricane Ivan has passed and I'm still alive. That's great.
Actually, I passed out at 10 pm and the only reason I'm up now is my grandmother called from Virginia to see how we did. I said, "I don't know let me go look outside and see." (Didn't know a thing.)
We didn't get a drop of rain and there is a light breeze. We never lost power.
All I can say is Thank you God and thanks for all the prayers from you board members.
Now, I'm going to take some aspirin and go back to bed.
Later.

Glad Ivan passed y'all by. Looks Alabama got hit pretty hard.
OU called me last night to let me know that he is ok. He had a mandatory evacuation off the coast area where he was, so he really only had a 2-day vacation - but he's doing ok.
It was good to hear his voice - I know alot of us were worried aout him and all our NOLA family.
I wasn't worried about OU. You couldn't drown him in a pillowcase with cement blocks tied to it. I hope everyone's ok and their property unharmed! I am worried about property belonging to some of our people near the lake.
I'm so happy for BG!!!!
And I was weepingly happy that so many members of my family that live AT Gulf Shores and Mobile, AL didn't lose a thing!!!
Let's hope that Boudin5's family's beachfront property at Grand Isle is in good shape!

Carl and I did ok over here in Slidell. Everything turned out fine and we hardly even had any rain. We ended up having our own little Hurricane Party. We watched movies and I beat him at WHO WANTS TO BE A MIILIONARE.
Herd this morning on the news there were two casualties in NOLA. One was a heart attack. Now what the heck makes them think that person wasen't gonna have a heart attack anyway?
A realistic casualty was some poor little girl whose window screen blew in and killed her.

I'm doing great, just a little rain and some light winds here. Much flooding nearby on the coast of Florida.
Glad that everyone is accounted for and ok from LA.

Zuzu, I talked to mama this morning and asked if she knew about Grand Isle and the camp...she hasn't heard anything yet. They are going to try and head out there tomorrow to see what is damaged. They did hear reports that the surge has water over the entire island. That doesn't sound good. I'll let you know what they find out. Thanks for the concern.

Hope all who bugged out.....or stayed are OK and in one piece physically, mentally and property wise. We got out......went to Opelousas to ride out the storm. Sorry......the way they kept saying its bigger than Betsy and resembled Camille.....that was enough for me. I'm glad the storm veered off and missed us, but feel bad for 'Bama and Florida.....they really got leveled. Maybe we can hook up before Hindenbug and swap hurricane stories......

FU*KED again. Speaking of which, while being bored to death in Opelousas, some gas stations were trying to pull a scam and charge $10 a gallon! Maybe we should shoot them like Slidell's mayor wants to do to the looters......
