I was at the show too....man I dont know, that's a tough call...the Scorpions are a PHENOMINAL live act and that night, they were really good as always...but I was definitely impressed by DP that night too...DP redeemed themselves in my eyes that night I saw them because when I saw them in 98 at Jones Beach with Dream Theater and ELP, I thought ELP blew DP off the stage and Ian's voice sounded horrible that night...but nonetheless, I can see why you feel that way and that's cool....

Not a venue I'm interested in AND I'll be recovering from the late night I'll have with ZEBRA!

I hear ya, Jones Beach ****s! I would prefer to see this show indoors somewhere or hell, send them to the Brookhaven Amphitheatre. Yes, I have a late night too on Saturday as well as a early Sunday...I am sure by the end of the JB show I will be a walking zombie...but hopefully it will be worth it...

I might go - haven't decided yet. Nothing can top the Deep Purple / Thin Lizzy show I saw last year at the Beacon Theater. It was the Purple show that I've waited for as they played all their classic hits. Everytime I've seen them at Jones they play OK but obscure stuff - saw them with Lynyrd Skynyrd and again with Scorps and Dio and they were technically good but the shows didn't come close to the Beacon show.

Is Jones Beach still dry? Do they sell beer yet there or do you still have to cover it up in the parking lot tailgate partys?

yes, Jones beach is still dry...They didnt even make an exception for Ozzfest a couple of weeks ago. Imagine how much money they could have made if they served beer at the show...missed DP at the Beacon, I am sure that show kicked ass since the Beacon is a great venue to see a show as long as you are not in the upper balcony...I personally dont like it up there...

A GREAT show last night...Thin Lizzy was AWESOME, they had the guy who played with Plant and Page in the 90's on drums (Michael Lee), some bass player that looked and played like Nikki Sixx, John Sykes and Scott Gorham...They sounded really tight...I would see them again! Satriani was AWESOME, he is easily 1 of the best, if not the best, guitarrist to come out since the mid 80's besides John Petrucci. Deep Purple was GREAT as always...if this show comes to your area, go see it...Thin Lizzy played 40 MIN, Satriani 60 MIN and Deep Purple played for 90 MIN
