Post the RUSH setlist here if you can!

I'm seeing the 2 shows at Radio City so I might not attend Jones but I haven't made up my mind yet and still might go.

If I do see RUSH at Jones it's 4 concerts in 5 days for me as I'll see Joan Jett at Playland on 8/12, AC/DC cover band locally on 8/13 and Deep Purple\Satchmo\Lizzy at Jones on 8/15.

My ears will be ringing.

Is Jones Beach still dry? Do they sell beer yet there or do you still have to cover it up in the parking lot tailgate partys?

Dry Dry Dry!! Unless you are in the VIP area! Its ****s if ya ask me. They should just stop selling it at a certain point in the concert like every other place does! Tailgating is a crap shoot. Sometimes good sometimes a drinking ticket! But....Have a great time at the show and let us know how it was!

yeah have to buy those red cups. but i guess they don't bust chops to bad as long as you make the attempt to have it covered

No beer at Jones Beach. As sad a commentary as this is, it made for a very dead crowd last time on the VT tour. Too bad, since Jones Beach is one of the most beautiful and unique venues anywhere IMO.

Wednesday night is Long Island's turn to enjoy the boys.

Here is your forcast:

Wednesday night. Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain possible. Lows around 70. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Rush In Rio released Oct. 21, 2003

Tourdates - Tourbook - Rants - News & Reviews

"We always talked about throwing a cover or two into the encore just for fun. When we put this 30th anniversary tour together, we realized that we didn't have enough time to do a proper studio album. A friend of mine suggested, 'Well, maybe you guys should dip into your past. Play some songs you used to play when you were in your formative years. Just record them quickly for fun, not overthink it, and just put out a little EP to celebrate where you were as opposed to where you are.' We thought it might be a way to juice us before the tour, so that's what we did. We tried not to get too trendy with it and really go back and play songs that we really did play in early versions of our band." - Geddy Lee, The Columbus Dispatch, June 2, 2004

"The Camera Eye, from our Moving Pictures album, is almost always at the top of the request list. We've given it a shot, but we always go, 'Well, I just don’t want to play that song. I’m not thrilled about it.'...You don’t want to disappoint, but you have to be honest." - Geddy Lee, The Columbus Dispatch, June 2, 2004

"I know that people always request us to play (1981's) 'The Camera Eye,' and every tour we think about that. But we just don't dig playing that song, and if you don't dig playing it, you're not gonna play it well. It has nothing to do with whether it's a good song or not. If you're not getting off on it, you're not gonna do a good job with it on a nightly basis." - Geddy Lee, Las Vegas Sun, July 16, 2004

"[R30 Overture] was an idea that Neil had. He suggested that maybe we could pay tribute to those songs in some way other than….obviously we can't play as many songs as we'd like to, we're already well over 3 hours. So in rehearsals, actually quite late in rehearsals, we decided to throw a bunch of them together and see if we could make some sort of overture. So we came up with this "R30 Overture" idea and worked on it. It came together quite quickly actually. I think it's a nice way to open the show. It's really easy to pull songs together if you don't have to sing them. It's like a walk in the park." - Geddy Lee, fye.com, July 9, 2004

"There was talk about doing 'Second Nature' as an acoustic song - I think that would be a good treatment for a song like that. Again, it's a question of time. I'd love to extend the acoustic thing to be half-an-hour long, but I don't know if we could justify that in the context of all our material." - Geddy Lee, fye.com, July 9, 2004

For this tour, every album other than Presto is represented in setlist (which has not changed since opening night). Rather than doing an oldies medley before the encore, as was often done in the past, the very first six songs are an instrumental medley with each segment lasting approximately 1-1:30 each titled "R30 Overture" on the setlist sheet at the soundboard. These first six songs, and the following seventh song, are from the first seven albums played in chronological order. Counting "R30 Overture" as one song, there were 30 songs played. "Animate" has been slightly rearranged for this tour: in the studio version the opening chorus is sung in full; for the R30 version the chorus is broken up such that the first half is sung at the beginning of the song and the second half after the first verse (it is sung in full after the fourth verse). "Red Barchetta" is the original arrangement, versus the 'punchier' version played on tour in the 90's; "Between The Wheels" is played for the first time since the Power Windows warm-up tour. For the first time ever, "Grand Finale" is included in the "2112" medley and "Working Man" concludes with a reggae ending (as opposed to a reggae intro as was last played during the Moving Pictures tour). At the end of "The Trees", Alex can be heard playing a bit of The Beatles' "I Feel Fine" followed by "Day Tripper". In 1990, when asked what songs inspired him to play guitar, he began with "Well, I remember hearing the beginning of 'I Feel Fine' by the Beatles. There's a little bit of feedback that rings out in the beginning, and I thought that was the coolest thing I've ever heard [laughs]. Also the riff to 'Day Tripper'..." - Alex Lifeson (Guitar School, May 1990, Vol. 2, No. 3, pp. 20-24). For additional information, visit the 30th Anniversary Tour news page.

Half the people on the Counterparts message board say the sound was terrible last night and half say it was good. Guess it depended on where you sat.

I never made it but plan on being at both Radio City shows next week!!

I haven't seen them since the Test For Echo tour. :( Luckily, my fav from them is Subdivisions. They always play that. My 17 year old nephew saw them in Hartford last week, said it was awesome. A great live band, even though I always thought they could be heavier. The last what, 4...5 tours, no opening band? Selling all those tickets all these years on their own, that's saying something!!! Alex is a truly underrated player.
