i was half asleep this morning and i started recalling/humming this familiar instrumental; it may be played on progressive jazz radio? Anyway, i made a wav of how i thought it sounded. Who does this? I'm lo fi over here, so you'll have to go to a simple web page and click on the wav link. > http://www.angelfire.com/indie/damiankidder/s/inst.html

Sounds a little like Melissa Manchester's "Don't Cry Out Loud", but I don't think that's what it is!

That's a guitar version of Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good"(Chuck plays the fluglehorn).

It is an instrumental from the 80's for sure. I can hum it in my head. I thought it may be the theme from St. Elsewhere, somehow "Saint" is in my head hearing that tune.

Yup, no doubt about it. That's Chuck Mangione. I think they used that song for the theme for the 1980 winter olympics. I seem to remember that. Also, on the cartoon King Of The Hill, there are Chuck Mangione references from time to time (the show takes place in Texas, apparently he's from there, too). He even made a guest character voice appearance as himself once. This song was played on that episode as well. Yup, that's him alright.
