How cool is THIS?!!!!
------------------------------------
METAL SLUDGE GETS OUR OWN RADIO SHOW ON XM SATELLITE RADIO!
For Immediate Release (we just wanted to say that to try and make this look like an official press release.)
Here's another big announcement we've been waiting to tell all the Sludgeaholics for the last few months!
Being that Metal Sludge has always prided ourselves on having our fingers on the pulse of the future, as you can tell from the bands that we cover like Warrant, Poison, and Kiss, we're coming to Satellite Radio!
We've wanted a radio show for years now and nobody would give us one. We asked around and everybody said they couldn't do it for one reason or another. We were treated like fat chicks outside of a tour bus. The most we ever got was the Metal Sludge Song Of The Week on The Classic Metal Show. And while that was cool and we'll still do that for them as long as they want us to, we wanted a whole ****ing show! Even if it was for one day. We wanted to dominate the airways for an hour and play whatever we wanted. Now we can say we have finally accomplished that goal! XM Radio, Channel 41 - The Boneyard, and their program director Charlie Logan, have stepped up to the plate, but their balls on the line, and given us our own radio show!
How perfect, we have a new radio show and a new CD! Maybe we'll even give our CD some airtime!
Our show will be airing Sunday Nights at 9pm east / 8pm central / 7pm Mountain / 6pm west, starting Sunday, May 30th! Every Sunday night, we're taking over the airwaves and radio will never be the same!
A full hour of Metal Sludge Radio! All the songs WE want you to hear! Plus we plan on having guest DJs, live 10 Questions, 20 Questions, Rewinds, 3-Winds or Back-4-Mores with various rock stars that you'll only be able to hear on our show, plus contests and various other bullshit we'll make up as we go along. Maybe we'll even let the Sludgeaholics pick out what songs they want to hear. We'll try to make the show a radio version of our website.
Now for those of you who aren't familiar with XM Radio, here's the deal. It's Satellite Radio. Basically, you could drive from Maine to California and never change the channel. It's also totally uncensored, which means there is no censorship and it's not under FCC regulation, so you can swear all day long. For example, The Boneyard plays Brides Of Destruction "Shut The **** Up" and even Metallica's "So What" and nothing gets beeped out! Even tonight, The Boneyard's DJ "Coolguy" was calling Grant and Bodhi from Channel 48 - Squiz both "No good, candy ass fags." Now you can see why we'll fit in perfect with The Boneyard!
XM Radio is also 100% Commercial Free! You have to subscribe to it, but it's only under $10 a month, which is slightly more than your typical porn magazine! In other words, it ain't much. You probably have $10 worth of change in your couch. Of course you have to buy the units, which range from between $100 to $200 and can be purchased at Best Buy or other places like that. You can also purchase Home Receivers, which are like kick-ass boom boxes so you can listen to it in your home or office! So no matter where you are, you can be hooked up. Right now XM Radio has about 1.7 million subscribers and it's growing by the day. We're sure after everybody knows that we're coming to XM Radio, they'll easily jump up to 1,700,001 subscribers!! Another cool thing is the units always tell you what song you're listening too, so if it's "Give It To Me Good" by Trixter it'll say so. You'll always know what song you're listening to.
Right this very second, The Boneyard is playing Winger's "Down Incognito." And a little while ago they were playing Ratt's "Hard Times," so they don't only play the known hits. They play really obscure stuff too, so the depth of what they play is really impressive. You'll hear shit you didn't even know existed. I swear they play stuff that hasn't even been recorded yet, but that's purely speculation on our part. "Down Incognito" is over and now it's Bang Tango's "I'm In Love." Just keeping you posted.
It's definitely the future of radio and where things are headed. In fact, many vehicles are now available with XM as a manufacturer-supported option.
If it sounds like we're swinging from XM Radio's balls, you'd be right but that's not because we have a show on The Boneyard. Even if Charlie Logan and The Bonyeard fires us after one show, we'd still be pimping them out. It's something we want everyone to know about because it's just that cool. If you're a music lover, you're a ****ing jackass if you don't have XM Radio. You'll be exposed to so many new bands and different types of music you won't know what to do.
