If you visit www.dokken.net you can download the Mp3 samples of the new songs.... I am impressed. The CD is scheduled for release I think in July.

I got to hear the preproduction tracks in Don's car last year sometime. He had a whole new concept than Erase the Stalte or Long Way Home. Modern but not....I am very pleased with the finished product for them!

check it out.

Erase the Slate was a decent CD but their new guitar player ****s, unless he is not that guy from Italy anymore and they have someone else now. I saw them live in 2002 and I am not impressed with their new bass player, I thought Jeff Pilson was sorely missed. I will give the new Dokken CD a listen since after all, I liked them for the last 20 years and have all their albums...but I hope this new CD is good. I thought Long Way Home was awful..

I did not care for Long Way home. They did not put the tracks on it I hoped they would have... and the pre production tracks recorded by my producer, Dee, were superior, by far to the material actually released.

ETS was a great album.... Maddest Hatter is a fave of mine.

I think you will like the new tunes

Nice, Jon Levin on guitar...that guy is good! he used to be in Europe (the band) I will give the new CD a listen then...that other guy Alex wasnt that good of a guitar player and played Lynch's solos really sloppy when I saw them.

Long Way Home wasnt all that bad. I really enjoyed a few tracks from it, most notablly "Little Girl".

This isn't the John Leven from Europe, who actually played bass in that band. John Norum was Europe's guitarist, and was actually guitarist for both Dokken and Don's solo band at one time. Funny, I saw dokken live last year with Alex on guitar, he was real tight and did a great job...nailed the solo to Tooth and Nail perfectly. This John Levin (not Leven) is from California, was in Warlock years ago, and actually became an entertainment lawyer, and is now pulling double duties while being in Dokken and remaining an active lawyer. I think Barry Sparks is doing a fine job playing bass in Dokken, but for such an accomplished musician, he is pretty laid back both on stage and on the albums, only cutting a bit loose during his live solo spot. Long Way Home is an ok album. A good listen, but nothing that pops out and sticks. I loved Erase The Slate, the title track and Change The World being my favorites from it. I'll be happy as long as it's not Shadowlife Part 2. What a nightmare. I think Reb Beach should have stuck around. That worked well for me.

This is insteresting feedback... Don's message board is all fans la la... not real listeners... I will email this thread to Don if y'all don;t mind.

Oops my bad....I confused Jon Levin with John Norum.

I have to recheck my Warlock albums to see if Jon L played on them, I am curious to know what he sounds like...If I recall correctly, he sounded fine as I enjoy the Warlock albums, especially the 1st and 3rd albums.

I think it is him.
Something just didnt seem right when Reb Beach was in the band, although songwriting wise "Erase The Slate" was one of their finest offerings. Of course, I'm a guy who thought "Dysfunctional" is the bomb!!!!!!!

Cool....didn't know they had a new one coming out.
I'll have to get it....just because I have all the others.

I thought "Dysfunctional" was good, too.

The only CD they have that I really don't listen to is "Shadowlife"....just could never get into it.

Other than that one, Dokken has always been a fave of mine.
Just drifted away for awhile.

I'm looking forward to getting this one.

"Shadowlife" wasn't all that bad. I thought the band was leaning to a modern "Seatlle " sound if you will.

I've got all their stuff tho....wouldnt have it any other way

Dokken rhymes with Rockin'

Erase the Slate was a decent CD! I'm looking forward to hearing the new one. I've been a Dokken fan since I was 18! Wish it was the old band though - although Reb Beach was a decent Lynch replacement.

I loved ETS... Reb was fab on stage with Don... and I saw him before I left LA with Whitesnake. Very very cool.

No chance of Donnie and George workin together again, or with Jeff Pilson... however, I think Don has chosen a good line-up.

Jeff has been working with Geaorge, and have some great matieral, too.

(Jeff Pilson's wife, Rivender, is due to have a baby any day now, by the way!!!) visit www.jeffpilson.com for Jeff info and Lynch/Pilson stuff!!

I saw Dokken at CPI's in 97, I think it was still the original lineup. They rocked. I got an autographed pic awhile back from Jeff Pilson of the whole band before they split. I used to take care of Tommy Hendrickson's grandma and he got Jeff to send me the pic. Tommy's wife works for Rhino and he got her to send me a bunch of free CD's. Fact: Tommy played bass on China Rain as a guest, check the credits. That's how I bought China Rain, Randy told me Tommy was on it. Love that album. I went to school with Tommy. Great guy.

Last info I heard on Jeff Pilson was he was back in Dio and doing the current tour. That was on Tourbus last week.

I stand corrected. Pilson is playing on the CD, but Rudy Sarzo is doing the tour.
