Put the RayBans on when you go outside with him so you don't get blinded by the reflection from his head:p

Mr. Rider called me today from Universal. He said that the Magic Kingdom was actually closed down yesterday because it was filled to capacity.....he said he's never seen so many people in one place and he only waited an hour and a half for a ride!!
The weather is in the 80's and it was 56 today here. ARGH!!!!

I went to Universal a few years ago and thought the fast/express pass was the greatest thing on earth. We went in October(off season), but the lines still got long. With the pass(thanks to being booked in Hard Rock), our maximum wait time was 10 minutes......

I just want to say . Never go on vacation to Disney with your husband and 5 kids. Did you hear me? NEVER EVER!!!!!! It was the worst time I have ever had. When you are there with 6 other people there is no such thing as a fast pass, express pass, I've got gas to pass, can you pass me the spritz bottle or whatever other freaking thing someone can come up with. I spent most of the time holding 6 water bottles(try going to the bathroom with those things hanging from you, there are only so many hooks in a stall) and doing laundry. We rented a very nice house with a pool( the only good part of the vacation) about 15 minutes outside Disney. The vacation culminated in all of us being involved in a very bad car accident ( luckily none of us were hurt) and our vehicle was laid up down there for 3 months. That was 4 years ago. I haven't been on vacation since. Still trying to recover.
I sincerely hope you are having a good time Palerider!

Sounds like your vacation turned into extended "mom" duty. Disney......too boring for me. Guess my 'wow" factor hasn't died yet.

I was starting to think I was in a National Lampoon version of Vacation from Hell. I thought for sure the dead body on the top of the car was going to be mine

Disney was a one shot deal. Staying on the grounds was not affordable with such a large family.

gotta hunt for specials, that's what i did. got a $300plus room for $129 a night at the animal kingdom lodge. spent 4 nights. worth it no driving back and forth. didn't see my car for 5 days

What I have to do is go away by myself and just spend whatever the hell I want on me and only me.

And you can always stay at one of the lower priced hotels...any of the All-Star Resorts and the new Pop Century Hotel in peak season which would be the msot expensive time - the room was $120.00 and it goes as low as $85. There are ways to cut costs. TRUST me! I go to Disney 1-2 times a year!

That's good to know CR. Let me know next time you go, I'll ship my 5 kids over and then I want you to tell me how cheap you got away with everything. That is if you can still speak coherently when you return. :D

I'm telling you it can be done!
I've actually given tips to a good friend of mine who has 5 children and 3 out of the 5 are handicapped - 2 severely and he stays ON Disney property, brings the 2 caregivers for his kids and his wife doesn't work. He's actually leaving Monday to go for a week. His kids ages are 17, 12, 6, 5 and 4. The last 4 are all special needs kids that were adopted from Korea. HE doesn't make a bunch of $$ - he works on commission. So anything can happen and is possible.
