Cool. I used to install that everywhere on friend's PC's when it was "free" for years but I think now you finally have to pay for it right?
One thing though I also remember about CA that is not so cool is that the tech phone support for Fax Serve (for Net Ware) was HORRIBLE. You would always get what sounded like the same foreign (Egyptian Magician sounding) guy but it wasn't & they were possible to understand. The document ion for Fax Server was rotten as well as the support web site. Luckily I haven't even had to look at Fax Server in over two years but man I have spent some hours working on it late at night and dealing with the tech support guy on the phone who seemed nice enough but he never could really help me out because I seriously couldn't understand almost anything that he would tell me. I guess it's funny now that I look back at it. We had this thing at the consulting company that I used to work for like running jokes about the way that no-one uses Novell Fax Server and that CA has like this one little dude that cannot speak English supporting it from his satellite phone from Egypt or something. :-)

Yup Sampire, Inoculan for netware is not free anymore, you have to pay for the boxed product now. They offer Antivirus for PC's and its $25 for 1 year and $10 each additional year, its a product called EzAntivirus.
Faxserve now is owned by a company called ACCPAC now and CA too over Faxserve in 1998 and their support center was located in Pittsburgh. I am not aware of this product ever been supported by an overseas tech, but its possible. Faxserve used to be Cheyenne software and CA took it over in 1998..and sold it off I think late 2002 to Accpac..

Heh, seems I'm the laziest of the bunch. Everyone here has at least 2 jobs. I work in quality control for Ovation Instruments (the roundback acoustic guitar. Nothing glamourous, but I like it. I build my own guitars, too, and repairs/set-ups/modifications for other people. The VH guitar in my avatar isan example (a replica from the back of VH2). Oh yeah, and there's no way I'm normal, but I think that's probably a good thing!!!!!!

Mostly yardwork - I haul everything around in my ole 86 toyota pickup - My customers also hire me to do stuff they don't want to do, like: Go to Lowe's, recycle x-mas trees, move, haul off junk, etc. Sometimes, some of the junk will sell on ebay. I'm also a musician; haven't had my own band in a while, but i help others with recording, arranging, writing, etc., and sell a few of my homemade cd's. I guess i'm spoiled in a way, and can't see myself working for anyone. I'm not rich, but I'm happy. Since i work outdoors during the week, I like weekends for relaxing, blockbuster, playing guitar, etc. Everyone i know is just the opposite: Work indoors all week, then head out for the week end.

Hey kid, well I recommend you go to a school that has audio production classes so you can combine your rock and roll with school and learn the most valuable thing that will help your music down the line. Let's see on Long Island you've got 5 Towns in Dix Hills, and even funky Nassau has a program through the music dept. City Tech (NYC School of Technology) in Brooklyn and City College in Manhattan have programs and are cheap, too!

That's really great. I did volunteer work in my senior year of high school at nursing home (crazy thing is that ZebraGirl was there too & I didn't "know her" as she was a 10th grader from our sister school <Catholic not co-ed schools> and I was in the 12th grade> and it really felt good to know that you could make the old folks feel so happy just by spending a few "extra" minutes with them and giving them someone to talk to. I always said that I would do that again because I think it's something that all of us "owe it to ourselves" to do but I haven't so maybe your post will "remind me" to do so.
Another funny thing though about eh Nursing Home was the my friend Damon & I played Zebra for the old folks at lunch in the cafeteria! They had a piano so one weekend Damon brought his acoustic guitar and I played the piano during lunch time at the cafeteria & we played Take Your Fingers From My Hair!
We also come to think of it switched the TV one Saturday morning from Soul Train to Kiss Meets The Phantom, that was cool!

I left Burrs Lane in Jan 1980 (middle of 7th grade), we moved to West Babylon. If I had stayed in HHH...I would have gone to East.

Nah I'm not really, see I went to Catholic schools from K-12 as did ZebraGirl (in fact the school around the corner is her old high school) so I'd just be staying with the "Catholic" school vibe by teaching there.
Plus I have learned from all of this computer network consulting that I often have to work much to far away from home the majority of the time -working around so close to home would be a blessing.
Let me guess, you thought I only wanted to teach there because of the girls huh? Come one, you should know better than that! :-)

yeah u rite, i'll have to get rid of that if i ever decide to leave the business world for the classroom eh? thanks for the tip! :-)
(i wish the rate paid per hour to teach computer literacy to high school students was the same as it is for implementing wide area networking solutions to the corporate world -cause then i'd try to switch asap!)

Lets see......I have 2 jobs......
I am an LSCR for Circle K by day........and by night I am a psychiatric aide in a mental institution.
Other than that, I dabble in music when I have time. I play a little bit of everything.

I had it backwards. LCSR.
Lead Customer Service Representative........a glorified cashier you could say. I work at a class A store and am left in charge of 2 shifts. This includes while I'm at my other job, because I'm the only local LCSR awake during graveyard hours.
dang! you're one of the harder working members!
