Ok this is a question about the greatest lead singers. They were so great that they have been lead singer in more than one band. Solo projects don't count. Also the nobody bands some of these guys got their start in or went to after don't count. Here's my list:
Paul Rodgers-Free, Bad Co., The Firm
Robert Plant-Zeppelin, Honeydrippers
Ian Gillan- Purple, Sabbath
Ronnie James Dio-Rainbow, Sabbath
Tim Ripper Owen-Priest, Iced Earth
Joe Lynn Turner-Rainbow, Sabbath
Eric Clapton-Cream, Derek and the Dominoes
Chris Cornell-Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave
Ian Astbury-The Cult, The Doors
That's all I can think of for now, anybody else know some?

Does this mean guys like
Rob Halford
Ozzy
Klaus Meine
can't be counted?
They haven't been in more than one band unless you consider Halford's "Fight"...but I consider his stuff to be more of a "solo" project.
Are you looking for the "greatest singers" or just ones that have been in more than one band?
Maybe I don't understand what you're looking for.

I think you were asking for singers that were in more than one band, right?
He wasn't a lead singer in both bands, Greg Rolie(Santana and Journey)

This thread is for the lead singers that were so great they were in more than one band. And yes Gregg Rolie does count because he was the lead singer of Journey before Steve Perry came along.

Dudes, you forget the best ones:
Paul McCartney: Beatles, Wings
John Lennon: Beatles, Plastic Ono Band
George Harrison: Beatles, Travelling Wilburies
Each of the three was amazing!
(Shame on you Macca for not picking up on this!)

Althzimers must be settling in early........either that or I was just shooting for my very best....I love the Beatles(you know that).....and not to knock them down, there are other voices just truly amazing. NOW.....it is amazing that Macca is still hitting notes he hit 40 years ago. John and George...damn I miss them both!

Yes...I like Anthrax more since John has joined. Although I liked Belladonna ok, the songwriting is more the reason that I don't "love" Anthrax.
I think it has gotten better since John has joined.
However, I think John is at his best with his former band "Armored Saint". That is my favorite metal band of all time.....hence, my nickname.....:D

I assume your speaking of Rob Caggiano.
He is from a band called "Boiler Room". I think they are based in New York.
Apparently, he is also some sort of producer. In fact, I believe he had a very large part in producing their latest album.

Still solo....to my knowledge.
I think he has 3 releases.
I didn't follow him that much.

Anthrax is another good band that pays tribute to their influences. Zebra and Randy do it as well. Gotta love that. Some bands forget that these days.
