OK.....somebody sell me.
I am leaning towards Sirius for 2 reasons.
1 - The "rock" stations that I want to listen to on Sirius are commercial-free. The XM versions have commercials.
2 - I can hook up Sirius in my car with "wireless"...requires only a cigarette lighter adapter. XM will require getting back behind my dashboard and hooking it up.
I am a relative novice when it comes to satellite radio, so I trust my friends here on the board to enlighten me.
My interests in satellite radio will be for:
Rock
Hard rock
Metal
80's metal
Classic rock
and I'm very heavy into talk radio.
SOMEBODY SELL ME ON XM OR SIRIUS!!!
FEATURES AND BENEFITS!
WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET AND WHY?!?!?

Here's where you have the difference between McDonalds and Burger King. Flame broiling over frying. They both have a .39 cent upsize. They both have combo deals, but what seperates them from each other? (the toys in the happy meals)
It's a tough decision. My personal one would be XM. I have a feeling eventually these two monsters will join force someday, years from now, to offer a sh!t load of stations. Basically, your going to spend about the same amount of money, and close to the same amount of time. Flame broil or fried.

Thanks Ylee.
Like I said, I have 2 reasons to go Sirius over XM.
I am looking for reasons to buy XM over Sirius.
Maybe something I don't know about.
Better sound quality?
Better reception? (Any dead spots)
Easier billing?
Shorter terms?
Better hard rock?
I do like the "unsigned bands" station on XM.
Haven't heard it, but I like the idea.
I really don't know what to ask......
I'll have to admit....The Boneyard on XM kicks some serious ass!

OK....Now what?
I have called XM and it looks like starting Sunday, ALL music channels will be commercial free.
Also, they DO have a wireless adaptor for the car.
SO,......now what's the difference?
I want to get this today so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks people!

XM has the edge, I would think over Sirius. They are going to be close to the same. XM has the Playboy Radio Channel. I know, got to get it now. Like I said, really there is no true winner, they both are fine. Flip a coin.

So does Sirius.
Not sure how good the Playboy Channel would be without pictures.:p

I called both companies.
XM customer service was better.
I think they have better talk radio also.
Plus, Zebra will be on XM :D !

Not too much difference to me. I have XM and a friend has Sirius. They both have some kick-ass stations. They both have around 100 stations. Starting Feb. 1st. both will be completely commercial free. They both sound 50 times more clear than FM. They both are cheap. $9.99 for XM and $12.99 for Sirius. They both play songs you will NEVER hear on commercial radio. You have a great selection of receivers, antennas, etc... for both. You can prepay for 2 or more years with XM and get a price break. It works out to around 7 or 8 dollars a month if you do it that way. You can probably do that with Sirius too, but I'm not sure. I say look at a couple of different units you want and see what kind of features they have. Then choose the best unit. Whether it is XM or Sirius compatible probably doesn't matter. You will love either one!!!!!

Settled!
Thanks guys.
I'm going tonight to get XM.
If there's really not much difference, then I'll go with the one that will play the live Zebra!

I've decided I'm getting the "XM SkyFi".
It will have the car adapter, the home kit, and the boom box.
I will be able to take it anywhere!

I prefer the term "pre-ridden".
...and this puppy's still good as new!:p
I like to think I "appreciate" with time!

It is very simple...
XM owns 80% of the market. Starting Feb 1 they are commercial free on all music channels. XM is $9.95 per month, $3 per month cheaper than sirius.
Why is there even a question here?

Welcome to the wondeful world of XM. You will love it. Did you get it hooked up yet?

Got it set up in my living room, in my car, and in the "boom box". I'm a little frustrated at the reception. I can't even TOUCH my boombox when it's in or I lose the reception for a little bit.
It will take some getting used to, but:
IT IS AWESOME!

I have never seen one of those units where you can move it around to different places, so I can't say anything about the reception. Im my car however, I have an Alpine XM Ready receiver with the XM tuner and antenna mounted to the roof. The reception is incredible and crystal clear. The only time I lose a signal is through a tunnel and sometimes underneath gas stations. Which is no big deal to me because there aren't many tunnels down here and usually when I'm at the gas station, I'm outside my car pumping gas.
Anyway, glad you got it and welcome to XM!!!!
