After years with Zildijian, Peart has his own signature cymbals with Sabian.

I think Sabian cymbols ****, even though they sound good, the quality of the cymbal is nowhere near as good as Zildjian's. Since Neil gets those Sabians for free, its a good move on his part. But since 99% cannot get Sabians for free, I would buy a Zildjian over Paiste and Sabian any day of the week! Just my opinion though.....

After having my cymbal bag with 7 Zildjian "A" customs stolen out of my car this past christmas, i ended up having to replace them with the Sabian "AA" line of cymbals. I have to admit, they are not Zildjians, but for the price, they are one good cymbal ! The local music store here has a drum tech. who tells me that one of the Zildjian brothers has jumped ship and is now running the Sabian Company. I wonder if there is any truth to that?

Everybody seems to be gravitating to Sabian lately.........whether it be their whole setup or just a few pieces.

I used to like Paiste cymbals....they seemed to project better than anything else.

Sure, it's about the money! And Neil's cymbals are made custom for Neil with Neil standing there, watching (and listening). They are probably not exactly like the ones for sale in the stores. Having said that, I will say that I have lots of Zildjians, 3 of the original real Wuhans and 1 Sabian crash. The Sabian is my favorite crash cymbal. Sabian was in fact started by a Zildjian. The company is named for his children: SAlly, BIll and ANn.

Sabian's are practically Zildjian's anyway. 2 of the Zildjian brothers had a falling out and one of em started Sabian using the same formula as Zildjian. Personally, I love Zildjian. Even though for authenticity (U2 tribute), I have to play Paiste. Which aren't bad I must say.
