I would have gone and saw this, but it was $40 at the door! Why does Twisted Sister find it necessary to charge $40 at the door to see them play a club with no light show or stage props? If they are standing their playing their instruments, there is no reason for any band to charge $40 at the door. I saw TS in 2001, I paid $40 BUT I was able to get Sebastian Bach, Overkill, Anthrax, and Ace Frehley as opening acts. It was the NY Steel benefit and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw. So, if TS continues to charge $40 at the door with no quality opening act, I am staying home. I hope I never meet Dee Snider in person because I will ask him flat out why his band does this.

Just so ya know.....if the show is "BENT BROTHER", then it is NOT a "Twisted Sister" show. (The only difference is they are sans make up etc....)

Oh so when you pay $40 at the door, they dont have their makeup on? That's Lovely (sarcasm mode off...)
You know, overall, I am getting sick and tired of bands overcharging their fans to see shows. I mean, I wanted to see King Diamond about 3 weeks ago at the downtown and this guy wanted $35 at the door. Now, King hasnt put out a real good album since 1990's The Eye and his stage show is lame now to how it was back then. He wanted $35 at the door anyways....Anthrax wanted $28 at the door for their show in October at the downtown and they played 75 MIN and bailed. At least when you go to a show in NYC at Roseland, for the most part, you get quality opening acts and you get your money's worth. Now, I am not sure who to blame, the downtown or the bands, but lately, club shows have been getting way out of hand as far as prices go...
But at least with Zebra, they charge you $15-$20 and you get a 2+ HR set...

dont forget that some of these acts charge alot.
i used to book shows at the vp and i know that some of these national acts can charge alot. and glicker tends to "bid up" shows
so he will bid on a show that someone else (vp,mulchays etc. ) and pay more so he can get the show away from that venue.
so now if u can only fit 400 ppl in the joint u have to charge a hightr ticket price pp.
i know also sometimes the band will dictate the price but not always.
so if glicker wants to pay bent brother what they asked (i know what they get)
he has to charge so much.
im not defending it cause i hate paying so much also
the only thing i hate more than that is paying ticket master $8
delivery charge per ticket.

That's probably the main reason why I won't go see TS. I'm not paying $40 for a ticket. Way too much $$$

I agree with you Joel and totally understand where you are coming from with everything...
I understand that Dave G bids on shows and outbids everyone because he has to business to run...
so I would assume we can blame both TS and the downtown for this. I just wish both parties would come down a bit on the door fee. $40 is a bit much for a club show and yes, $8 for a service fee from TicketBastard sux!
The only band that I can think of off the top of my head who can charge like $30 or more for a club show is GWAR. Now, you may not be a fan of GWAR but when you see them live, you see where your money goes as far as a stage show...they just dont stand there and play like most bands do...
Now dont get me wrong...I love Twisted Sister and will always be a fan! But, I just dont agree with them charging that much at the door...
