U2 Can Own A Restaurant: Bono's Zoo-Ropa
U2's Bono, following in the tradition of legendary Manhattan
restaurateur Britney Spears, has decided to parlay his career as a
rock star into a career as a restaurant owner. (It worked so well
for Britney.) We hear Bono recently bought Le Zoo in the West
Village and plans to reopen it early next year with chef April
Bloomfield, formerly of London's River Cafe, a posh Italian
restaurant. Last weekend, Bono was set to co-host a benefit there
for Peace Games (which claims to "build the capacity for young
people to make peace"), with Q-Tip deejaying and Mario Batali
auctioning wine. (We think it would have been more fun for Batali to
deejay and Q-Tip to auction wine, but no one asked us.)

I guess I know where I'll be having ALL my meals from now on! This is just another brick in the wall for Bono, he co-owns a hotel in Ireland as well.

There's less of Bono these days. When Sun-Timeser Cathleen Falsani
saw the U2 rocker in Washington, D.C., last week she asked the tea-
sipping musician if Weight Watchers was the reason.

"Oh, I don't do that. Just swim, and that. I can't wait, actually,
to be fit again. ...I'm going on tour. I've got to get fit." As for
that tour, the 43-year-old rocker says "hopefully next fall --
that's what I'd like to do," to boost the group's just-finished new
album.

I'm on The Edge (no pun) of my seat waitin to see what the new stage design will be. With no heart shaped catwalk, how will he get his cardio workout?

Yeah. I dunno, I really dug the heart. Worked great indoors, more intimate.

Oh I have a story for you. I remember going to the Oct 27th U2 show 2001 at MSG. I was right on the outside of the heart and this guy I met told me that they ( he and his friend) were backstage and had a small tour and they said that Bono has this punching bag back there where he warms up before a show and it had stuff written on it like Bin Ladin is been gone or something wierd to that effect. That did get his adrenaline going :)

A note to the U2 fans. U2 is on Directv every weekend in December with a free showing of one of their concerts. It's every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to all Directv customers.

It's called DATA and was put up by Bono himself. The site offers a
variety of no-cost ways that Bono fans can help with his mission to
stop AIDS in Africa. There are also news updates and occasional live
webcasts of the latest Bono speeches.
