I can't even believe that I started this thread.
I have to say as much as Loverboy is probably considered lame on this board and perhaps Journey as well, I really like them both the same! I've heard alot worse!

Journey.
Neil Schon was a really good guitarist. I like Journey's old rockin' stuff before they went to nothing but ballads.

Even though I do like some Loverboy songs, they didn't have near the staying power or the following that Journey had.
Journey hands down!

Saw ZEBRA open up for Loverboy in Long Island's Nassau Coliseumin the early 80's. Do I need to say it, ZEBRA blew them off the stage !!! Went to the show for ZEBRA, not Loverboy. I've always liked Journey better than Loverboy.

Journey is not nearly as disgraceful as Loverboy!

I was a Journey fanatic at the start of 1980! I got to talk to Steve Perry via a radio station phone interview once(I recorded myself onto an audio cassette).
When Greg Rolie left, I was very disappointed. Journey had a few hits/songs that were good after that, but for the most part, when Greg left, it was over for me.:(

All you people who voted for Journey and live up in the NY area need to come to see EVOLUTION - if ya haven't already!
Hugo is a DEAD ringer for Steve Perry. Check it out:

VERY cool!
They seem very talented. I would LOVE to see them.
Especially Lance. I used to LOVE Virgin Steel. I have some of their stuff. Pretty cool that he used to work with David.

Journey hands down! Better musicians.....songs.....fans.
Loverboy......Zebra opened up for them back in the mid 80's and they blew them away......the fans wouldn't let Loverboy start the show. My friend went to sleep after Zebra finished the set.
AND.....what is it with Loverboy's singer constantly rubbing his butt? Does he have crabs....or an itch??

Now I didn't even know that about Lance and I've been seeing the band faithfully (no pun intended!) for like 6 mos now. I've never heard of Virgin Steel. What kind of 80's metal chick am I????
I smell a road trip for Dave!

They were pretty raw 80's metal. The only songs I ever heard on the radio were on special "metal hours" or things like that. Their most popular would have been "Don't Say Goodbye", "Metal City", and "Go Down Fightin'". My personal fave was "Guardians of the Flame".
I followed their guitarist more than the band. His name was Jack Starr.
Fairly obscure and unknown metal.

Journey rocked, Loverboy ****ed. Need I say more? The VP show of Evolution is like being at the real thing, they are awesome. Just a few Diva's were there but there were alot of other cuties around. I saw Wednesday, Chara & Dawnie from the board. Too bad CR couldn't make it. :(
