Who did you like better with Van Halen. Although Garty only lasted 2 years with the guys, that 1 album is INCREDIBLE! Who do you prefer?

Hagar hands down! If VH3 was so good, why couldn't they even GIVE them away, and Cherone was sacked after that project?

and when i first voted, i wasn't thinking 'van halen', i was just thinking that i prefer gary's voice over sammy's.

Gotta' go with Sammy Hagar. Only because Gary Cherone sounds just like Sam and the instrumental parts were better with Sam. But I did very much like VH3! :)

Everything has it's time and place, and unfortunately, Gary wasnt in the right place at the time when he joined VH. Although he is one hell of a singer, he just didnt fit, and I think all VH fans were getting a lil tired of the rotating singer issue.

BTW, he wasn't "sacked". He left on his own accord and remains on good terms with Ed.

My point is that everyone (not necessarily here) seems to blame Gary for the fact that VH3 ****ed.....

Yeah the song writing wasnt up to par, although there were a couple of diamonds in the rough there. Example being "Without You" and "Dirty Water Dog". The rest left me scratching my head. It really did sound like Ed went through his archive of older material, tossed it at Gary and said "Do something with this." I dont think either Dave or Sammy could have saved that CD.............
