Close but no potatoes here in Metairie, the wind gusts were interesting enough but not anything extraordinary. The street at my office by Clearview is supposed to be flooded and closed, but I've yet toconfirm that. Near miss!

Anyone down in the West Bank? Or further down the beaten path at ground zero?

I am also concerned for everyone's safety. :(

EVERYONE REPORT IN PLEASE.
(When you are able, of course.)

May all your Family, Neighborhoods & Homes be safe.

Well, at about 9:30 p.m., after about 18 hours without power, all I can say is, I love the guy that invented the air conditioner. They had a few utility poles on peoples houses up the street from me. No water, alot of wind, but no damage to report. We escaped another bullet, for two weeks in a row. I won't count on number 3. I will be going out and getting a power generator next month, just for future outages.

Best we count blessings that we fared so well. Good to hear no damage as of yet in Marrero, I know I have a few friends there that may not be back yet, if they did indeed leave town.

Crossing fingers for all...

Heard reports that the hurricane downgraded itself to a cetegory 2 before it hit the coast and only the coast got a good whipping. Thank god for that. But even the pictures on the weather channel and such made it look like a pretty fierce storm.

We need you guys down there. Stay strong. Besides:

Who else is gonna send them crawdads and farm raised catfish up north?

Who else is gonna have the best Mardi Gras in the country?

Who else is gonna be Saints fans?

Who else is gonna feed them west nile mosquitoes?

All is good here in Destrehan...no nearly as much rain as last week Thank God. NO flooding the wind was pretty damn gusty for a while. All are OK

We've found a cure for the west nile virus. Does anyone remember seeing the Tobasco commercial, where the guy is sitting on a lit porch, eating pizza. He's pouring on tobasco sauce on his pizza and a mosquito lands on his leg and begins to **** his blood. A few seconds pass and the mosquito pulls out and begins to fly away, only to burst into a ball of flames. The guy smiles, with sweat pouring down his face.

Big Sun was home during Lili, the winds were not that bad & he said we did't get much rain. Me on the other hand, I was stuck at work(I'm a RN) for the past 36 hours. I work uptown & it wasn't that bad over there either.
Hope everyone lucked out as well.
