Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn?

They are both INCREDIBLE guitarists. 2 of the best. My vote goes to Vaughn because Vaughn was a cleaner guitar player and he played Jimi's stuff flawlessly. Just check out Stevie's version of "Voodoo Child". I my opinion he does it better. But Hendrix had a little more feeling. They are both UNBELEIVALBE guitarists! Who do you prefer?

Hands down ----- Hendrix. After all these years, they're still trying to figure out how he played. One of the two guitarists that died when I was young I would have loved to have seen(Duane Allman is the other).

Geez! This is a tough one. I'll go with Stevie Ray Vaughn. For the same reason's Mak Rackett has said. But Jimi Hendrix is THE MAN.

I say that Stevie was probably a better all around guitarist, yes he can play Jimi perfectly...but it was Jimi who came up with the stuff, not Stevie. Therefore I have to say Jimi Hendrix.

It's very ironic that this question is posed. I just went out and bought a whole bunch of SRV's music, 9something I've wanted to do for a long time) after loving him for many years from radio play and his greatest hits. Incredible is all I can say! 2 of the greatest tragedies in music PERIOD!

Their guitar playing aside, I just think Jimis songs are of a much better quality than SRV's. (but I also like JH's singing and playing better too). Tunes like "The Wind Cries Mary" put tripe like "Pride and Joy" to shame IMHO.
