Anyone out there know the whereabouts of a 80s band that used to play out in Fat City (Metairie, LA) alot called 24K. Saw them more times than I can count and drank many kamikazis to their music. I know they opened for Zebra a few times that I saw. Bass player's name was Jimmy, drummer Gary and guitar Lance Bulen. Happy memories of my youth!

The Sheiks were the number one party band in New Orleans for a bunch of years. Nick Ferber now w/ The Molly Ringwalds, one of the best bassists that have ever seen. (99and a half, ain't good enough for me)

I remember driving down to Asbury Park to see "White Tiger"; they were very good. Their guitarist was hot; but not as good as Randy. There aren't too many out there who can hold a candle to Randy. Who remembers "Swift Kick"? They were one of my favorite local bands next to Zebra.

Jeez, PERSIA, now that's a wild memory trip... "Hustling In Hollywood" was sooo kickass!

there was a decent band that opened up for Zebra eons ago at the old Abalon(Avalon) Theater in the Point (scratching head and brushing cobwebs back), can't remember their name but it may have been Hagen. Or was that at the CYO? Or the VFW?

And wasn't there a kickin' Pink Floyd tribute band named "Clearlight" that did a show or two?

And Metal Force 5? Wayyy back in the day, when Phil Anselmo was a Ron Keel lookalike in Razor White days?

And I think there was this band called Queensÿche that had opened FOR Zebra...

STEVIE IS THAT YOU "MR BUNGLE"

MrBungle

More so for me if you knew me, there weren't THAT many long-haired Filipinos that hung around the West Bank in those days!
I'm hard to miss, especially being named after a beer (now, that may lessen the odds somewhat)

And that was Queensrÿche in my last post (late night posts and you don't worry about typos till the next day)

Remember the blown-up pic of RJ the Avalon Theater used to have in the lobby? And I vaguely remember Mike Costello used to be the one who would introduce Zebra in (wasn't that Mike?) and also when Zebra opened for Kiss in the Dome...

OK, I'm straying off the beaten path of this thread, so, ciao!

Eeeesh, and to think we used to scrape up change for that stuff...thank god there was no shortage of coins in the Village Aurora fountains!

My brother worked at Fun Land, so he upped some moolah too on the sly.

Did The Rebels ever open for Zebra?

years ago i went to a show at the voodoo lounge where 5 bands opened for zebra. i can only remember 2 of them, Felix rock candy and headshop. the singer from headshop was literally reading the lyrics off a sheet on a music stand. it was quite a show! didnt get home til close to 6 am. zebra came on at 2 am.

Check out the post from Joe C. "Zebra In Lafayette". The band Clockwerk is opening for Zebra Friday Nite. Tastes of Persia, Lillian Axe and others. Sounds kick ass. I'll be there!!!
