Hey do we have any GN'R fans on this board! I love em'!:D If so what do you think of Velvet Revolver (Slash's group) and Axl's Guns N' Roses? Just wondering.

First album.....
Lost track of them after that. Back when I was a Metallica fan, (Still a fan of the "old" stuff) I remember when James burned his arm and then Guns and Roses came out. Axle Grease ;) didn't like his voice and I think some equipment malfunctioned, so he just walked off the stage and went back stage for a smoke and a drink. Then the crowd rioted and some people died. I thought that was pretty bad.
But all in all, I do enjoy their music. It's been a long time since I've listened to them though.

I'll be anxious to hear their new stuff I've been hearing about.

They were the ultimate HARD rockers! Appetite For Destruction is the greatest rock album of all time in my opinion! Use Your Illusion's 1+2 are awesome, and GN'R Lies is kickin'! I love the original band (Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, Steven, Matt)...they rocked! Axl's GN'R is probally not going to be as good as the original! But Velvet Revolver (Slash, Duff , Matt Sorum, Dave Kushner, Scott Weiland) is gonna ROCK!

Thought AFD is a classic, Lies is a great CD, The use your Illusion stuff is ok and thought the spaghetti incident was horrible. Saw GNR in 92 with Metallica and they were good, but they sounded even better when they played the appetite tunes. Velvet Rev will be good, but Axl's 2001-2003 GNR will ****.

Seen GNR twice------once opened up for Kiss, then on the "superbill" with Metallica back in the 90's(the one where Hetfield was turned into a human torch). Faith No More opens, then Metallica plays and kicks everybody's ass for 2.5 hours. GNR comes out at midnight.......20 minutes into the set, AxlCrybaby starts bitchin cause folks are falling asleep in the first few rows---no wonder, Metallica killed everybody! Surprised he didn't storm off the stage. They put on a good show, but Axl's antics are a detriment. I wouldn't mind seeing the Slash version of the band. Have to hope Weiland stays clean!

Saw Weiland with STP when they opened for Aerosmith last year. He looked clean, energized.....FOCUSED! Now I hear he got busted again. He needs help....BAD!

Use Your Illusion 1 + 2 are killer albums! Slash is awesome on it. Those albums is GN'R finding their own rockin' sound! But 1 is much better than 2! I would say the order of best to worst is Appetite, Illusion 1, Lies, Illusion 2! I don't count The Spagetti Incident,malja316 is right t's HORRIBLE! But the Live Era 87' - 92' is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
GN'R is a AMAZING ROCK BAND! THAT'S ALL I GOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT! :D

Maybe I'm in a minority, but when I first heard GNR, they sounded great until Axl opened up his mouth. Is his ego still king sized?

When I saw Guns and Roses - Great White opened for them at The Ritz in NYC[ it was a few months before they became really big] - and Axel reminded me of Dee Snider- obnoxious and cursing at the crowd - I HATED THAT PART of the Twisted shows and from there on wouldn't go see Guns again. But I did enjoy there earlier stuff and Knockin on Heavens Door is classic

Axl is like school in the summertime;NO CLASS

Ylee is right, Axl is a conceited ,self absorbed egomaniac who thinks he's god's gift to Rock N Roll:I think he can learn a thing or 2 from Mr.Rock n Roll himself Johnny Race, who by the way called me a little while ago,now that guy has class.

I saw G N' R back in '87 before they hit it big. I saw them in Savannah, GA, Axl had to keep running backstage for oxygen. They weren't that great live but I loved their albums up until Use your Illusion 1&2 after that they went to shit. As I said in the non GN'R fans post, I saw Steve's band Suki Jones at the Vanderbilt a few months back. They were better than GN'R in 87'. They played almost all GN'R tunes.
