After 7 years of not playing a show on Long Island, Suffocation returned to Long Island last night and played 75 MIN of explosive Death Metal! Its great to see them back and look for a new studio record early 2004.

To all of you Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Speed Metal Fans in here...When Suffocation comes to your area for a show, Make sure you show up! Last Night's performance at the downtown on Long Island gets 4 stars!

The girl I work with is the niece of the lead singer and the receptionist is his girlfriend and they both said it was a great show, but could have been better. I was supposed to go but I had an emergancy and couldnt.

Your opinion, did they rock?

The show could have been better if these 2 matters were taken care of...

1. They played longer than 70 MIN. They should have played 90 MIN or 2 HRS. They have enough material where they can do a 2 HR show.

2. The monitor near the bass player and the singer was *****ed up midset, so it caused some loud distortion in that area. That's not the bands fault, I blame the downtown for that..its their front stage monitors, not the bands. Could have been the overall volume of the band was too much for that monitor to handle.

But other than that, it was a GREAT show. They sounded as tight as anyone, their performance was on the money, and they played a good setlist of songs from the 1st and 3rd CD's. They played Breeding the Spawn off the 2nd CD/3rd Cd and they did nothing off of Despise the Sun. But if you really like the Effigy and Pierced CD's, they played lots of songs off those....

They will be back when their new CD comes out, which should be early 2004 and I'd say early 2004, they'll play the downtown again. I would go and see them again....
