For the uninformed....Mr. Phillips was instrumental in many others career.......many who had their start at Sun Records. Here's a little clip from the article:
In the early days, before Presley, Phillips worked mostly with black musicians, including B.B. King and Rufus Thomas.
After the success of Presley on Sun, others who recorded for the label under Phillips included Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty and Charlie Rich.
Mr Phillips was a pioneer due to the fact that you could walk in and make a record(and not be a recording artist) He will be missed........
