I was thinking of possibly starting up a Yahoo NFL Fantasy Football League with some fellow Zebra board members. Anybody interested? I would like to make this a fun yet competitive league. I would like to have only members from this msg board participate. As long as you are a football fan and you are willing to follow your team every day or week, this league is for you. ANYONE can join as long as you are willing to participate!!!
If enough people respond that they are interested, I'll set up the league in Yahoo.
Sorry if this is an unacceptable post in here, just trying to gather up some Zebra board members for a "just for fun, no money" league.

As far as asking the members of Zebra to play...I know they are busy and I know they may not have the time, but I dont know, maybe 1 of them messes around online once in a while and maybe they wanna join our league or something. I just figured I'd offer....nothing more, nothing less...
As far as the rules, go under "league settings" and you'll see them. Any questions, concerns, suggestions, go on the league msg board.
Anybody else who's interested, just sign up!

Can we have the draft on August 24th(Sunday night)? I just started a job working Wed.-Sat. nights - I don't know if I'll keep this job or not, and whether I'll still be working this schedule by then, but just in case. Feedback?

malja, I noticed you have draft set to autopick - can we change it to manual and agree on a day when everybody can be there to draft their own team?

I feel there will be too much chaos with an automated draft. You'll have a lot of people wanting to make trades because they don't like some of the players that they have.

I think it is an automatic draft system. You can rate the players as you like, and the system will pick the players for you.

Hey FlGuy...
I think it might be tough to get all of us together at the same time to have a manual draft. Also, my wife's due date for our baby is Aug 23rd, so that is gonna be a chaotic week for me, as soon as she goes into labor, I am at the hospital.
However, I work in an office with internet access so I can submit the draft and maintain our league, so that is no problem.
As far as our draft, right now its set for Yahoo to automatically pick our players based on the order YOU and everybody else in this league pre-ranks their players. So, my suggestion to you is to draft your players where you want, how you want them, etc ahead of time.
As far as trades. I am sure there will be lots of trading going on based on our draft results. You have a choice, if you like your players, you keep them, if u dont, you make a trade and hopefully, someone will trade with you...
so everybody pre-rank your players ahead of time...
btw, thanks to everyone who has signed up already, we have 4 teams right now...and its HEATING UP so if you are reading this and you are into football, JOIN US!

Sure, if everyone wants me to submit the draft on monday morning 8/25, I have no problem submitting the draft then. That means we will have our draft results within 2-3 days, maybe sooner...
So as of right now, everybody have their players pre-ranked by sunday night 8/24 before you go to sleep...

I've done a yahoo league before, and you get draft results the same day - as soon as the draft is over you will know who you have!

Ok cool, the sooner we have the draft results after I submit the draft, the better of we will be...
I wish we could do a live draft, but everytime I try to do this, something always comes up, usually with another manager...
However, when I do an automatic draft and I tell everyone in advance when I am submitting the draft, I never have a problem with that.

I'm in a league right now,.....and I really don't have time for it, but I play every year anyway and I enjoy the hell out of it.
I would like to sit out on this one just for time-sake, but if you end up needing a team..............I'll be in:D .
Let's see if we can fill it up without me............but you can count on me if needed.:)

12 teams would be nice, but 10 makes it easy for drafting decent players. I'm a commish on another private league at my office. We started with 12 teams one year, but the player pool dwindled fast.

I've played with 8, 10, and 12.
8 was fun, but it's much more fun when you have more people to buck with.
12 was fun, but you're right, the pool was very thin towards the latter half of the draft.
10 has worked the best for us for the last few years.

Hey Nomad, the door is always open and will be until about aug 22nd. so if u decide you wanna play, you are more than welcome.
I will close the league probably on friday 8/22 and submit the draft monday 8/25 in the AM.

I changed the position settings for our league, eliminated util positions and 1 TE position and replaced with a 3rd WR. We got 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 K, 2 DEF, 4 bench.
Check out the positions and let me know what u think. I know that most leagues have 1 QB, 1 K, 1 DEF, but I figured I'd let you start 2 QB, 2 K, 2 DEF instead. That's how it always was, no changes in that aspect. All stats are the same.

After you sign up, click on the league settings and you will see the rules...
There is no money involved, this is a just for fun league. Since you have no experience playing fantasy football, this would be a GREAT opportunity for you to acquire some. Just rank your players according to our league settings and you'll be fine. Its a 50% Touchdown 50% Yards league.

At 10:50Am EST Mon 8/25, the draft is submitted to Yahoo. Hope you all pre-ranked your players ahead of time because if not, your rankings will be Yahoo's default rankings. We have 9 teams in our league and the door is closed for new teams.
Good Luck to EVERYONE and thanks for the compliment, Steve. Glad I had people who were willing to particpate. I was a little nervous thinking nobody would care, but I was wrong! That's great....
be on the lookput tues/wed for your final picks. The draft order is random so u wont know who has the #1 pick until we all have our results. This will make it fair for everyone...

Ok people, we got our draft back 24 hrs after I submitted it. Check your teams to see how you did...all players in the pool not drafted are in waivers for 2 days. Good Luck to everyone this season, its gonna be fun...Hope you are all satisfied with your drafts because I sure as hell am...:)
