No, this is not an Iron Maiden reference....I just wanted to acknowledge this magical post of mine!!! I'll sit tight here for awhile. What are YOUR lucky numbers? Alot of 3 digit favs.
714 was always a popular one, 5:15 is a great WHO song and is now all over the place for "Reloaded". Of course Mr. B's new favorite is 119!!! What's yours?

Speaking of "Who Are You"....how's about "905" the Entwistle tune!!! "Mother was an incubater, father was the contents, of a test tube in the ice box, in the factory of birth. My name is 905,
and I've just become alive. I'm the newest poulator of the planet you call earth."

Here's the press release:

http://www.hsv.com.au/vy/1024/pressrelease/427release.html

Would you believe about $115000 US Dollars? It's not available in the US.

The basic car is gonna be here next year as the Pontiac GTO. It's only got a 350/5.7 in it. Bummer. Should still be cool for about $30K.

Let's move to Australia. Everything's got a 250-300hp V8 and rear drive down there.

Oh, and my favorite 3-digit number?

426

Not to mention shipping from Australia, modifying it to meet US emissions and safety standards and paying off the US customs and EPA guys.

OR

Just buy a $30K GTO next year and order the parts from Australia. You can buy a 427 stroker kit here anyway.

Yep. It's the same thing.

Both the GTO and the HSV 427 are based on the Holden Monaro. HSV is "Holden Special Vehicles."

A buddy of mine has a Mitsu Eclipse Turbo with AWD. I'm not into rice burners but that thing ROCKS!

This Holden Monaro/GTO/HSV thing is too big to be a Honda. The car is actually a stretched and widened Opel Omega, which is what the Cadillac Catera was. Imagine a Catera on major steroids.

Holden even has an El Camino-like version of the car with an LS-1 and a six-speed that goes for about $20K US. It's a really cool thing.

No, he's not a big gearhead. If he was, he wouldn't have gone Mitsu!

I think all he's done to it is a K&N air cleaner, something with the intercooler and a cat-back exhaust. I really don't know the details. I just got off the phone from him, too, so I could've asked! I'll let you know.

The thing really hauls ass as it is. Any more would get this guy into BIG trouble!
