It's "Two fer Tuesday".....do they have this down in the Bayou? Or how about "Deep In The Heart"? What radio gimmicks do they have in your "neck of the woods"? And nobody mention W O W ( the greatest radio promotion EVER!)... It's now 8 months and 14 days...(alledgedly) and my Dr. just had to bump (hey...I used the infamous "BUMP" in a post) up my Zoloft to 100mgs. Enquiring minds want to know...........

I think just about every Jock station has such an event. I've heard of "Maniac Monday's", "Wacky Wednesday's". They've had Live Drive At 5, where they would play live (pre-recorded) material at 5 for the drive home. Album hour at midnight (I still remember those). Requested Lunch Hour, The No Repeat Work Week from 8-5. If you hear a song that was played twice, you could call and they would pay you.

Two-fer Tuesday is alive and well in Chicago on WLUP 97.9FM. They used to have the "Blue Plate Special" at lunch time, too. Other gimmicks have been the "Rock & Roll Diner," "Traffic Jam," "Block Party Weekend," "No Repeat Weekend" and the "Memorial Day 500."

I wonder where those lame-ass programming crutches started, what satin jacket and frye boot-wearing Andy Travis wannabe came up with the idea that radio listeners are too stupid to discern good music from bad and that gimmicks are necessary to attract listeners.

RADIO IS EVIL!!!!!
(At least THAT kind of radio is!)

Ya know....I'm laughin' ova here. I forgot some of these. I remember when WNEW in NYC was a (THE) "Classic Rock Station", they would play Springsteen and call it "Bruce Juice". They even went as far as to make a pint size OJ container with the stations logo etc...on it. The whole "no repeat" thing kills me!

Now we have some marketing fellow who came up with a local DJ by the name of Jim, and his sidekicks "The Twins". Never has it been reported as "Big Jim and the twins", not to offend anyone, (yeah, right). My opinion is they couldn't find any more annoying person at 5:30 in the morning then these 2. Just their voice so early in the morning gets me out of bed. I visited the website, these aren't the prettiest twins out there. Maybe that's why they are on radio, and not t.v., I guess.
